Hello, my favorite Tuesday peeps! Well, Mother Nature apparently couldn’t let August slip quietly into the history books without reminding us who was in charge.
Yesterday—the very last day of August—she tossed in one more hot day, just in case we’d gotten any crazy ideas that summer was finished with us.
Message received, Mother Nature. Summer is still here. You can turn the thermostat down now. 😆
But today is September 1st, people! SEPTEMBER! Which means fall—my absolute favorite season—is literally right around the corner. 🍂 I can practically hear the crisp mornings, colorful leaves, cozy sweaters, and everything pumpkin-flavored calling my name.
And yes, I’ve already purchased pumpkin spice creamer.
Don’t judge me.
I’ve been patiently waiting all summer while Mother Nature worked her way through approximately eighty bazillion menopausal hot flashes. I have earned my pumpkin spice latte. ☕🎃 In fact, I may have already enjoyed one… or three. I’m just getting into the spirit of the season, that’s all.
We also had a fantastic weekend! The hubby had another gig, and this one was at one of my absolute favorite places with my favorite band that he plays with. It makes such a difference when you genuinely enjoy spending time with the other “band wives.”
Instead of just tagging along while the guys play, it feels like a night out with friends—with the added bonus of live music!
The venue itself is another reason I love these gigs. It’s outdoors, the food is fabulous, the atmosphere is fun, and Mother Nature was apparently in a generous mood because the weather couldn’t have been much better. Good friends, great food, live music, and beautiful weather? That’s pretty much my definition of a perfect summer evening.
Even better, we have two more gigs scheduled there over the next couple of months, so I’m already looking forward to those. Of course, eventually the Pacific Northwest weather is going to make outdoor gigs a little… soggy. Apparently everyone in the band is already jonesin’ to keep playing once the outdoor season ends, so the bandleader is looking into some indoor venues where they might be able to play during the winter months.
I’m completely on board with that plan. Why should summer get all the fun? Besides, there’s something pretty appealing about listening to live music indoors while the rain is doing its Pacific Northwest thing outside. Add good food, good friends, and maybe an adult beverage, and I’m there!
And speaking of seasonal traditions, we’re also gearing up for the official start of football season!
You already know where my loyalties lie.

In fact, apparently I decided my existing Seahawks wardrobe wasn’t quite prepared for the occasion, because I bought myself a new Seahawks sweatshirt—with sparkly stars on the sleeves, thankyouverymuch—as well as a Seahawks jean jacket.
Because if you’re going to cheer on your team, you might as well have a little bling while you’re doing it.
The jean jacket isn’t quite sparkly enough for my liking yet, though. I’ve already decided it needs some additional bling, so apparently I’ve given myself another project. What exactly that bling will involve remains to be seen, but I’m envisioning something fun, sparkly, and appropriately Seahawks-y.
I’m thinking I need to add some tiny rhinestones to the lettering on the sleeves:

There’s just something about football season that makes it feel like fall has officially arrived. Give me a Seahawks game, something yummy cooking, a pumpkin spice latte, my sparkly new Seahawks gear, and a cool autumn day outside, and I’m a very happy camper.
So while summer may technically still have a few weeks left on the calendar—and Mother Nature will undoubtedly remind us of that whenever she feels like it—I’m officially turning my attention toward fall.
Pumpkin spice? Check.
Football? Check.
Sparkly Seahawks gear? CHECK.
Cooler weather? We’re working on it.
Now I just need Mother Nature to get with the program. 😆
