Hello, my favorite Tuesday peeps! Can someone please explain how we’re already cruising through August? It feels like summer just arrived, and yet I’m already finding myself daydreaming about crisp mornings, colorful leaves, oversized sweaters, and everything pumpkin-flavored.
You all know by now that fall is my happy place, so every passing week feels like one small step closer to my favorite season.
Last week, Mother Nature decided to squeeze in one more round of heat advisories before (hopefully) settling down for a while. The good news? This week’s forecast looks much more like the Pacific Northwest I know and love, with temperatures that don’t require me to question all of my life choices every time I step outside. I’ll happily take “pleasant” over “surface of the sun” any day!
Unfortunately, the heat wasn’t the only thing hanging around. For a few days, wildfire smoke from various parts of Washington drifted into our area and settled in like an unwanted houseguest. Even if you weren’t particularly sensitive to it, you could definitely smell it and see the haze in the air.
My heart especially goes out to anyone dealing with breathing issues, because I know those smoky days can make simply stepping outside a challenge.
Even more heartbreaking are the devastating wildfires near Spokane that forced so many families to evacuate. It’s impossible not to feel for the people who lost their homes, treasured belongings, and memories. One moment you’re living your everyday life, and the next everything changes.
My thoughts are with everyone affected, and I’m hoping they find comfort, strength, and the support they need as they begin the difficult process of rebuilding.
On a much lighter note… there really isn’t a whole lot of exciting news from our little corner of the world this week, and honestly, that’s not necessarily a bad thing. After the whirlwind of projects, gigs, weather drama, and The Drybox Chronicles, a quieter week has been kind of nice.
Sometimes the best weeks are the ones where nothing particularly dramatic happens, everyone stays healthy, and life simply rolls along at its own pace.
Of course, knowing my luck, now that I’ve typed those words, Mother Nature is probably plotting her next surprise while the drybox patiently waits for its next chapter. 😆
Until then, let’s set aside the serious stuff for a few minutes and enjoy this week’s collection of random funnies that brought a smile to my face. I hope they do the same for you!

Sorry to hear about the wildfires. That’s just devastating. And, yeah, where the heck did summer go?
Heeheehee! Gotta love the UFO chicken house, it’s actually quite clever. I can’t see a predator getting in.
I hope your Drybox saga is over with soon and thanks for the funnies.
