Hello, my favorite Monday peeps! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! This ended up being a pretty low-key weekend around our house.

We’ve been dealing with wildfire smoke that settled into our area for a few days, making it one of those weekends where staying indoors sounded like the best plan. My heart absolutely breaks for the families in Eastern Washington who have lost their homes and so much more.

It’s hard to imagine everything they’re going through right now, and they’ve certainly been in my thoughts and prayers. It also serves as a reminder to appreciate the little things—our homes, our loved ones, and the everyday moments we sometimes take for granted.

On a lighter note, this week is a Monday’s Music Moves Me freebie, which means there isn’t a theme to follow—just a chance to share a few songs that have caught my ear lately. So let’s take a little break from the heaviness of the world, turn up the volume, and enjoy some wonderful new music together.

Let’s start with a brand new song from this favorite group – sometimes the best songs don’t need an elaborate story—they simply capture a feeling we all recognize. Written by one of my favorite former American Idol contestants, Kellie Pickler, alongside veteran Nashville songwriters, it’s told from the perspective of a woman who’s found herself sitting behind bars with just one phone call to make…and absolutely no idea how she got there.

Or at least that’s her story!

As the song unfolds, little details begin to slip out about pool sticks, bar stools, drinks thrown in faces, and a mysterious woman named Linda, all while she insists she’s been on her “best behavior” and honestly can’t remember a thing.

The artist leans into the comedy perfectly, bringing just the right amount of playful sass to a character who’s clearly not the most reliable storyteller.

The hilarious music video only adds to the fun, placing her behind bars while she cycles through one outrageous telephone after another—including the toy phone with the googly eyes that had me laughing out loud.

Sometimes country music doesn’t need to tug at your heartstrings—it just needs to make you smile, and this song does exactly that.

Last but certainly not least, I stumbled across this artist while searching for newly released songs, and this one totally caught my ear. If you’ve ever caught yourself smiling over an old mixtape, remembering Saturday morning cartoons, or wondering what happened to all the fashions we once thought were so cool, this song is sure to strike a chord.

Inspired by the wave of nostalgia that’s sweeping through music and pop culture, the artist wrote this playful tune as a lighthearted tribute to a decade that many of us still remember with a grin.
