Hello, my favorite Tuesday peeps! How is it already Tuesday again?! The weeks seem to be flying by at warp speed, and while I’m not quite ready to start decorating for Christmas (okay… maybe just a little), I am more than ready for fall to hurry up and get here.
Today (Tuesday) is extra special around our house because it’s our anniversary! ❤️ Together nearly 30 years, married as of today for 23 years. Somehow the hubby has put up with me all these years… and I’ve somehow survived countless gigs, home projects, and The Drybox Chronicles. 😄 I’d call that a successful partnership!
Here’s to many more years of adventures together. Now if Mother Nature would be so kind as to give us anniversary weather instead of anniversary hot flashes, I’d appreciate it. 😆
Mother Nature has actually been pretty kind to us lately, blessing the Pacific Northwest with some gorgeous weather. Naturally, she couldn’t let us get too comfortable. Starting today (Tuesday), she’s apparently planning yet another one of her infamous menopausal hot flashes, and we’re looking at several days of excessive heat.
Our nearly 100-year-old house has many wonderful qualities… but efficiently releasing heat is definitely not one of them. It loves to soak it all up during the day and graciously share it back with us all night long. Thanks… I guess? 😅
Fall, if you’re listening, I need you to arrive STAT. Crisp mornings, colorful leaves, cozy sweaters, and open windows can’t get here soon enough.
The hubby had another fun gig on Friday night, and as always, I had a great time cheering him on. Good music, good company, and one of those evenings where you look at the clock and suddenly realize it’s way later than you thought.
Let’s just say bedtime happened considerably later than planned… but some nights are absolutely worth it.
Saturday was a completely different kind of fun. We made the trek north to Barnes & Noble for a book party celebrating the newest release from Sheila Roberts. Sheila has been a longtime family friend since I was just a wee little thing, so it’s always extra special getting to celebrate milestones like this with her.
There was lots of laughter, plenty of books, and it was wonderful seeing everyone gathered together to support another successful launch. It’s not every day you get to celebrate someone you’ve known practically your entire life becoming a bestselling author!
Between a late Friday night, a busy Saturday, and Mother Nature preparing to turn the Pacific Northwest into a convection oven this week, I’d say we’ve packed quite a bit into a few short days. I’m thinking next weekend might need to include a little extra relaxing… preferably somewhere with air conditioning.
