Hello, my favorite Tuesday peeps! Well, here we are again with another Tuesday and, honestly, not a whole lot of major excitement happening around these parts. And you know what? I’m okay with that! Sometimes a quiet week is exactly what you need before life decides to throw another random plot twist at you.
Speaking of plot twists… this is the hubby’s final student week before summer break! Now, I know what you’re thinking: “Wait… isn’t summer break supposed to happen in, you know, SUMMER?” Well, technically, yes. But the technical college where the hubby teaches is a year-round school, so their schedule doesn’t exactly follow the traditional academic calendar.
Their “summer break” runs from around mid- to late August through the end of September. Which means that starting this Friday (or earlier, since he already got all his grades in and only has meetings today and tomorrow), I will have the hubby in my hair, underfoot, and generally occupying space in my house for FOUR+ WHOLE WEEKS. 😂
Just kidding, honey. Mostly.
I’m sure we’ll find plenty of things to keep him busy. In fact, he’s already decided that one of his projects during his break will be getting back to moving boxes from the house into the drybox. Yes, The Drybox Chronicles are apparently coming out of intermission—even though we still haven’t heard back from the city about whether we’re actually allowed to leave the darn thing where it is or whether we’re going to have to move it.
Because apparently that’s how municipal bureaucracy works: You submit your paperwork, pay your fee, and then… crickets.
But honestly, I’m not going to complain about having boxes leave the house. Even if we eventually have to move everything back out of the drybox again, getting some of that clutter out of the main living spaces will feel like progress. And after all the purging we’ve been doing, I’ll happily take progress wherever I can get it!
Of course, having the hubby home for four weeks also means there will be plenty of opportunities for home projects, random conversations, musical noodling, and me occasionally wondering if perhaps I could rent him a small apartment somewhere nearby. 😆 I’m kidding! I think. We’ll see how Week Three goes.
And finally, today (Tuesday) is a very important day because two very important ladies in my life are celebrating birthdays! 🎉
First up is my sister, who lives all the way over in Kansas. Happy Birthday, Sis! ❤️
I’m sure she has absolutely no idea I’m giving her a shout-out here because, despite being my sister, she lives in Kansas and does not read my blog. Her loss, obviously. 😂 So I’m taking advantage of my little corner of the internet to send some birthday love from the Pacific Northwest all the way to Kansas!
And then there’s my aunt, who was also born on this day! Happy Birthday, Auntie! ❤️ She and my uncle recently packed up and moved from the Pacific Northwest all the way down to Louisiana, so I’m sending birthday wishes from the PNW to Louisiana, too!
Of course, she doesn’t read my blog either, so apparently I’m just out here publicly wishing people happy birthday into the void. 😂 But that’s okay—I hope both of you have absolutely wonderful birthdays filled with laughter, good memories, and all the things that make you happy. Love you both!
So… that’s about it from my little corner of the Pacific Northwest this week. No major drama, no giant weather emergencies, no municipal plot twists (yet), and only a few thousand boxes waiting for their next destination.
Honestly? I’ll take it.
Now, let’s see what kind of random funnies managed to make me laugh this week!
