Hello, my favorite Monday peeps! I hope you all had a fabulous weekend! Mine seemed to hit the fast-forward button because I blinked, and suddenly Monday was knocking on the door again. Doesn’t it seem like weekends get shorter every year? Thankfully, we’ve got great music to help ease into a brand-new week!

This week’s theme comes with a fun history lesson! “In ancient times, “Dog Days of Summer” was connected with bad luck, mad dog attacks, unexpected thunderstorms, heat, and drought. These days gained the “Dog Days” name because they are connected with a star in the Canis Major (Greater Dog) star system known as Sirius. Nowadays, “Dog Days of Summer” is associated for summer’s long hot days. Based on these interesting tidbits use your imagination to find music that’ll make us howl on the dance floor!”

I took this week’s theme as an invitation to get a little creative! Instead of focusing only on songs with dogs in the title, I built a playlist inspired by the many sides of the Dog Days of Summer—from perseverance through life’s challenges and soaking up the sunshine to battling the heat and ending with one of those unforgettable summer nights where everyone is singing along together.
