Drybox Chronicles Holding Pattern; Food Truck Fiascos; Mother Nature’s Hot Flash & Random Funnies: Random Tuesday Thoughts

Hello, my favorite Tuesday peeps! We’ve been enjoying some absolutely gorgeous Pacific Northwest weather lately, and I’ve been soaking up every minute of it. Sunny skies, comfortable temperatures, and those perfect summer evenings that make you remember why living here is so wonderful.

Of course, Mother Nature apparently couldn’t let us get too comfortable. It looks like she’s preparing for another one of her infamous menopausal hot flashes this week, so we’re bracing for another round of warmer temperatures.

Thankfully, it doesn’t sound like we’ll be anywhere close to what so many of you have been dealing with back east. Seriously… to all of you enduring those brutal heat waves, I’m sending cool thoughts your way. Stay hydrated, stay cool, and know that we’re rooting for you from our little corner of the Pacific Northwest!

Even though we’re still in a holding pattern with The Drybox Chronicles, we’ve been making progress around the house. Since we can’t officially start filling the drybox again until we get it rotated and all the city paperwork is behind us, we’ve been focusing on organizing what we can and making a few trips to the dump.

It may not be the dramatic “before and after” transformation I had pictured in my head, but every box sorted, every shelf organized, and every load hauled away is still progress. Sometimes you just have to celebrate the small victories while waiting for the big ones.

The hubby had a gig over the weekend, but this time I decided to sit it out. It was a private party at a private residence full of people I didn’t know in the slightest, and honestly… that’s just not my jam. 😄 He had a great time playing, though, and that’s what matters. Sometimes it’s nice for him to do his thing while I enjoy a quiet evening at home.

Unfortunately, the evening came with one memorable hiccup—and it involved the food truck. Since it was the only food option at the event, he ordered dinner and waited patiently as the line behind him grew longer and longer. One by one, people who had ordered after him walked away happily carrying their meals while he was still standing there wondering if his order had somehow entered another dimension.

Then things got even stranger.

At one point, another guy walked up to the truck with food that the vendor insisted was his order. The guy said, “Hey, this isn’t the food I ordered.” The gal in the food truck said: “You’re not Landon?” He said “Nope!” so she took the container of food and, rather than making a fresh meal, turned around and tried to hand that same food to the hubby. After it had already made a trip out into the wild.

Yeah… that’s gonna be a hard pass.

He politely declined, and despite having already paid for his meal, he left hungry. On the bright side, the music was good. The customer service? Let’s just say it won’t be making anyone’s “Best Food Truck Experience” list anytime soon. 😅

  1. That last story of the man following his wife cracked me up! One time, my husband got in a truck with a random woman thinking it was me. He was so embarrassed!

  2. Heeheehee! Your funnies always leave me laughing.

The food truck experience was no laughing matter, though, as the lady really needs to get food safe service certification. If she already has it, she failed and needs to take the course again.

May the Drybox saga end quickly!
