Hello, my favorite Tuesday peeps! I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend and that all the fathers out there enjoyed a fantastic Father’s Day. We kept things pretty low-key around here for the hubster, which is exactly how he likes it.
No grand adventures, no elaborate plans—just a relaxing day spent doing the things he enjoys most. Sometimes the best celebrations are the simplest ones.
This past weekend was also Egg Days here in our tiny town, a tradition that dates all the way back to 1921. It’s one of those events that reminds me why I love small-town living. Every year it seems to get a little bigger, a little better, and a little more fun.
The parade keeps growing, more people show up to celebrate, and the entire community comes together for a weekend of food, festivities, and hometown pride. There’s something special about seeing a tradition thrive more than a century after it began.
Speaking of good times, the hubby had a gig this weekend, which is always fun. One of my favorite venues to catch the band is Johnson’s Smokehouse in Olympia. Not only is the music fabulous, but the food never disappoints either.
It’s basically a win-win situation: great live music, delicious barbecue, and an excuse to spend a sunny afternoon hanging out with friends. I’m not sure which is the bigger draw anymore—the band or the menu. 😄
Of course, just when I thought we had survived our first couple of heat waves of the season (those usually wait until late July/early August), Mother Nature apparently decided we haven’t suffered quite enough.
We’re staring down another round of 90-degree weather to kick off the week, and I am officially over it. I know some people wait all year for summer, but I am already dreaming about crisp mornings, colorful leaves, oversized sweaters, and all things pumpkin spice.
Fall, if you’re listening, I’m ready whenever you are.
Until then, I’ll be over here trying not to melt while enjoying this week’s collection of funnies, randomness, and whatever else happened to wander into my brain. Let’s get to it!
