Hey There Sunshine We Were Only Young once—and now the still Young at heart just want to say, Take Me Dancing!

Hello, my favorite Monday peeps! I hope you all had a fantastic weekend! Ours was surprisingly low-key for the first time in what feels like approximately 47 years. 😄 No gigs, no running around, no chaos… honestly, I wasn’t entirely sure what to do with myself.

The rain decided to show up and completely ruin our grand plans of hauling more piles’o’boxes out to the drybox in the backyard, so instead we mostly just looked at the boxes and mentally moved them. That still counts as progress, right?

Thankfully, the sun has decided to make a comeback this week, which means motivation should return along with it. Funny how sunshine suddenly makes you believe you can reorganize your entire life in a single afternoon. We’ll see how long that energy lasts before I decide sitting on the deck with iced tea sounds more productive. 😉

But enough about my ongoing battle against clutter—since it’s Monday, you know what that means… MUSIC! 🎶 This week is a freebie week, so anything goes. Grab your favorite tune (or twelve), turn the volume up way too loud for a Monday, and come dance along with us!

Let’s kick things off with the first new music we’ve gotten from this group in two years (‼️), and it arrives with a message that feels especially needed right now. This song is all about healing, hope, and finding your way back to the light after going through a difficult season. The group described the song as capturing “the quiet and powerful moment when healing begins,” and that feeling really shines through in every note.

Wrapped in this group’s signature harmonies, the track feels warm, comforting, and quietly uplifting. One of the group members said that the song is “a reminder of all the beauty around us and that it’s never too late to find it,” while the band also shared that it’s meant for anyone who feels like they’ve “lost their sunshine.” It’s gentle, heartfelt, and one of those songs that feels like a deep breath after a storm.

Next up is a song that feels wrapped in nostalgia from the very first note. It’s a bittersweet reflection on youth, lost love, and that all-too-familiar realization that sometimes you don’t fully appreciate a moment until it’s already gone. The frontman described it as “a bittersweet song about looking back on better times, knowing you can’t ever go back,” and you can feel that ache woven through every lyric.

The song carries even more emotional weight knowing it’s the first single from what will be this group’s final album before the band parts ways after more than 20 years together. Musically, it leans into the piano-driven, emotional style longtime fans know and love, slowly building from soft, intimate verses into a sweeping chorus full of warmth and melancholy. It’s the kind of song that feels comforting and heartbreaking all at once—and honestly, that’s where this group.has always shone best.

Without further ado, here’s Kodaline with “We Were Only Young”:

Next up is a brand-new song from this favorite duo that feels especially personal to them. The title track from their upcoming sixth studio album, it takes a reflective look at growing older and realizing just how fast life moves. After more than a decade together—building careers, chasing dreams, and starting families—the song captures that bittersweet moment when you look back and wonder where the time went.

Musically, the track leans into a softer, more stripped-back sound, letting the emotion and storytelling take center stage. Instead of going big and flashy, the duo keeps things warm and intimate, with acoustic textures and harmonies that really let the lyrics sink in. The accompanying music video adds even more emotional weight, showing the duo transformed into elderly versions of themselves as they reflect on life, memories, and family. It’s nostalgic, heartfelt, and one of those songs that quietly sneaks up on you emotionally.

Get ready for more goosebumps, here’s Dan + Shay with “Young”:

Last but certainly not least, is a brand new song from this band is known for blending rock, Americana, and soulful, faith-rooted storytelling. It’s a song that feels deeply personal and emotionally unfiltered. The song leans into themes of vulnerability, shame, faith, and the exhaustion that comes from trying to carry everything on your own. Rather than hiding behind polished perfection, the song embraces the messy, human side of struggling and searching for peace.

Musically, the track blends the band’s signature soulful rock sound with a softer, almost prayer-like atmosphere that lets the emotion really sink in. One of the most striking moments comes through the lyrics about talking to God “like a child who keeps on running back into the room,” capturing that mix of desperation, honesty, and hope. Fans have called the album one of the most vulnerable albums yet, and this song stands out as one of its most powerful and heartfelt moments.
