Happy New Year; The Road to the Super Bowl goes through Seattle; Random Funnies: Random Tuesday Thoughts

Well, my favorite Tuesday peeps – and just like that, the holidays are over. Can we rewind, please? We’ve arrived in 2026. Still not sure how it’s been 26 years since Y2K – I mean, it was just last week, wasn’t it?! 😅 Twenty-six years since the biggest non-event in history! Well, I mean, there were other non-events, but that one sticks in my head the most…heh!

Hope you all had a wonderful holiday break, if you, in fact, had a holiday break. Happy New Year! While the holidays always seem like such a mega rush, I sure enjoy the ‘down’ time that’s not so ‘down’ when there’s so much to do. I need a holiday from the holiday! Are you resolution people? I’m not making any resolutions this year, but I am planning to try to slow down a bit and breathe. We’ll see how that goes!

Many of you possibly know that I’m a Seahawks fan. Even when I lived in Pennsylvania, I still rooted for the Seahawks, because, you know, my hometown. They’ve been doing really well this year – this past Saturday’s game against the 49ers clinched them as the #1 in the NFC West and the NFC’s Top Seed (I’m not gonna lie – I don know what that means exactly, but I do know that it’s good! LOL!) – and they have a great chance of making it to the Super Bowl.

This one I made back in 2012/2013 before their last Super Bowl journey (I need to find my original – I had to snag this from my Facebook images, so the quality isn’t great):

This was floating around after the game on Saturday and cracked me up:

Interesting, no? That would be so cool if they make it to the Super Bowl – and win – then the above will be even wilder. We moved back to Washington State in the fall of 2012, so we got to watch the Super Bowl with family and friends in 2013. It was amazing. I joked at the party that our return to WA was the reason, but obviously the subsequent years weren’t our fault… 😆

Let’s jump to the funnies, shall we? This is valid:

  1. There’s no real rest during holidays, it’s when everyone wants their house cleaned even more. Anyway, your funnies are always the best and I pray you and your family have a blessed and beautiful 2026.

    1. Amen to that, Mimi! I imagine you get the brunt of it! One of these days I’m gonna hire me a MessyMimi to take care of my house for me. You know, once I get rid of allllll the boxes and clutter! 😅 Do you have any clones you can send my way? 😆 Ditto from me to you on praying you and your family have a blessed and beautiful 2026! 🥰

  2. Happy New Year! As we step into a fresh chapter, the NFL season heats up, and the road to the Super Bowl becomes clearer. This year, the path to the championship is undeniably going through **Baltimore**, where the Ravens have emerged as a dominant force. Led by MVP frontrunner Lamar Jackson, their dynamic offense and stingy defense have set the league ablaze, making them the team to beat. However, contenders like the **San Francisco 49ers**, with their balanced attack and elite playmakers, and the **Kansas City Chiefs**, fueled by Patrick Mahomes’ brilliance, are poised to challenge Baltimore’s reign. The NFC East’s **Dallas Cowboys** and the resilient **Buffalo Bills** also loom as dark horses, ready to make their mark. The playoffs promise high-stakes matchups, where every snap could shift the narrative. As the calendar flips, the Super Bowl dream intensifies, and the question remains: Who will rise to the occasion and claim the Lombardi Trophy? The road is set, the stage is lit, and the journey begins now
