Hello, my favorite Monday peeps! Christmas is days away! Are you ready? I’m not! 😅
Meanwhile, since it is Monday, you know that Monday means music! Almost the entire month of December is dedicated to Christmas music (a tradition here at Monday’s Music Moves Me), so grab your favorite Christmas tune(s) and come dance with us, won’t you?
Let’s start with a brand-new song from this brotherly trio, who are spreading Christmas cheer with music that is also part of the new movie they’re starring in. The film follows the brothers’ whirlwind journey home for Christmas. They face a series of travel mishaps, from hopping on the wrong trains to taking flight in a last-ditch effort to reach their families in time for the holidays. I’ll be looking that one up for sure!
Give a listen to Jonas Brothers featuring Kenny G with “Coming Home This Christmas”:
Next up is a cover by this artist, one that’s been around for a while and he does a fabulous job. When he premiered his version he wrote on social media:
“As we get older it seems like we redefine Christmas to ourselves by what it means to us and the role we play in it. But one thing that never changes about this time of year is that it’s about showing love, giving thanks, and most importantly preserving innocence and the purity of unity! I think Tradition is such a beautiful tool! It’s something only you and the people you share it with will hold dear. You can start a tradition anytime, doing anything! This holiday season hold your loved ones close and try to start some new traditions. Love you!!”
Get ready for goosebumps, here’s Teddy Swims with his cover of “The Christmas Song”:
Next up, during the holidays, it’s easy to forget the excitement and anticipation you experienced as a child. With this duet, the artists capture the magic of that feeling, and evokes the classic Christmas pop era of the 1950s and ’60s. The artist said:
“‘[This song]’ is about the magic of Christmas that you had growing up and reconnecting with that again with the one that you love. Christina is the perfect artist to duet this with and, as a huge fan of hers, I am honored to be sharing in this with her. I’m very excited for my fans to hear me on an original Christmas record and hope it’s the start of many more!”
Give a listen to Calum Scott and Christina Perri with “Kid At Christmas”:
Last but certainly not least is a favorite Christmas song from this favorite artist. This holiday ballad longs for the one thing that St. Nick can’t bring him: the lover he has lost.
The artist wrote this song for the animated film That Christmas, which premiered on Netflix last year. The video for the song intersperses live-action of this artist and his co-star, Claudia Jessie (from Bridgerton), with animation from the movie. The pair play a couple who are no longer together, despite the artist’s most pleading attempts to rekindle it.
There is nothing under the tree that I wished for / I want you to come back to me / And be like before
The live-action movie That Christmas is based on the children’s book series by Richard Curtis, who wrote the screenplay for the modern Christmas classic Love, Actually. Curtis directed the artist’s video for this song, choosing to film it in Southwold, Suffolk, which evokes the movie’s fictional town of Wellington-on-Sea. The artist said:
“Richard Curtis made my fav Christmas film, and TV special. He came round my house in 2021 and showed me a rough of his new one, then asked me to make a song for it. How could I resist,” Sheeran says in a statement. “Having kids, I struggle to find great great movies for very young kids to watch at Christmas, and this ticks all the boxes. This song is written about a character in the film who wants to spend Christmas with his dad, but doesn’t get to. It’s a heartbreaking scene, and something so many people go through every year being alone at Christmas. Hope everyone loves the song.”
Get ready for some goosebumps; here’s Ed Sheeran with “Under the Tree”:
After I found that song last year, I had to go watch “That Christmas” – and loved it! So, if you have Netflix, it’s totally worth it. 😊🎄
Wishing you and yours a Very
Merry Christmas!
That’s a wrap for this week – have a great Monday! See you on the dance floor!

Ah, the Jonas Brothers. More my daughters’ thing than mine, But a nice song.
Excellent playlist! Teddy Swim has a stunning voice. Have a very Merry Christmas and a blessed New Year.
Merry Christmas Stacy and thank you for holiday cheer with your music selections, my dear. Have a boogietastic week! xo
I hope you are having a safe Christmas despite the weather in your part of the United States. I’ve been through three floods in my life but this (as reported in national media) is nothing like what I’ve experienced. I really liked the Ed Sheeran song.
