Whoowee, mah Tuesday peeps! One week down, three more to go, and then it’s December! Jeez, oh Pete, this year has flown by way too fast for my preference! But it’s not about me, is it? 😅

We had some doozie weather towards the end of last week – it’s not common to get thunder and lightning storms here in the Pacific Northwest – when I lived in Pennsylvania, those were the norm – in fact, the hubby and I used to sit out on the front porch and watch the storms roll in (until they got too close, then we’d duck inside, of course…heh!).

Here, we don’t experience the humidity that often conjures up those thunderstorms, so when we do get the storms, it’s definitely a rare occasion. In fact, people will be posting on the local Facebook pages, “Did you hear that boom? What was that? Who’s setting off fireworks?” 😆 Apparently, Mother Nature decided we needed not one, but several, over a three-day period. And naturally, our power went out on each of those three days.

Of course, the doggies are always annoyed (read: scared) when the thunder rolls – poor things! The thunder doesn’t annoy me unless power outages accompany it. Since we’re supposed to have warmer-than-normal temperatures for the rest of the fall season, I wonder how many thunderstorms we’ll see?

I think the hubby is contemplating yet again getting a generator. I keep telling him he should, if nothing else, it’ll invoke Murphy’s Law, and our power will never go out again. 😂

My new car is still at the Cadillac dealer – I did finally hear from CarMax, and apparently, the motor in the passenger seat that controls the lumbar support and massage feature was dead as a doornail. They had to order a part, which was expected to arrive at the end of last week. The plan is to work on it and get it fixed this week, hopefully by the end of this week.

At least I’m enjoying driving this loaner, so I’m cool with that. The 2022 Mazda CX-5 they gave me to drive is much better than the 2017 Subaru sedan they gave me the first time… it screamed “old man car” – maybe because my late father-in-law drove one, but at least his was burgundy vs. white like the one I had for a weekend.

I’m having a lot more fun driving the Mazda, since it has some really cool features – and having an SUV for grocery shopping is much better than loading everything into the trunk of a sedan… at least for me!

So I’m currently in hurry-up-and-wait mode – one of my least favorite things to do, but I’m happy they’re getting it fixed!

Speaking of hurry-up-and-wait mode… I am waiting for my hearing aids to come back. I’m currently using a pair of ITC rechargeable and Bluetooth-capable hearing aids, but since I have a funky ear canal, these are extremely uncomfortable; they hurt my ears, and only amplify sound, so I still have trouble hearing what people are saying.

Glad I work virtually instead of in an office environment, I’d never get through a day with these! 🤪

Christmas is coming!

  1. We get thunderstorms here, too, and so many people have generators, it’s amazing. It’s becoming the thing to do.

    Thanks for the great funnies!
