Hello, my favorite Tuesday peeps! November has arrived!

I always appreciate when we get our hour back – I know many people prefer to keep Daylight Saving Time year round, but I’m on the Standard Time year round bandwagon. Let’s just keep it like it is and never change the clocks again, shall we?

We are now officially in that chilly, rainy season here in the Pacific Northwest. While fall is my favorite season, the rainy part is not. At least the weather cooperated when I had to drive that hour+ south to drop off my Cadillac to get the passenger seat functions repaired. This time, they gave me a fun loaner – a 2022 Mazda CX-5 that’s fully loaded, so at least this time it’s a fun one to drive, unlike the 2017 Subaru they gave me last time that had a funky smell in it…heh!

As of the time of this writing, I haven’t heard from CarMax about how the appointment at the Cadillac dealer went. It’s possible that they may need to keep my car for up to two weeks if they have to order a part for the repair. So I’m in hurry-up-and-wait mode, but at least I have a shiny red car to drive in the meantime. 😉

Yesterday I had to drop off my hearing aids so they can do the ‘end of warranty repair’ – apparently, now that I’ve had these hearing aids for three years, the warranty is up in January. What they do is basically refurbish them, so when I get them back in two weeks (hopefully not three, possibly earlier), they’ll be like new.

Meanwhile, I discovered that I’m eligible for a new pair of hearing aids through my insurance, courtesy of my husband, so I have my required appointments scheduled. First up is a new hearing test, which will be on November 14th, then the day before Thanksgiving, I’ll be going in to order the new pair, and receive them the day after Christmas.

Maybe I’ll get lucky and they’ll come in sooner than that, but at least I’ll have them in time for the New Year! And my current pair (which are off for their refurbishing) will be my backup pair in case I need to have any warranty services on the upcoming new pair.

Meanwhile, I’m wearing an OTC pair that are annoying since they’re basically sound amplifiers. Because I have a funky corkscrew-shaped ear canal, the earbuds don’t fit right, and the squealing feedback in my ears at times is going to be the death of me. I’m leaving them out more than I’m wearing them because of that, so silence is sometimes golden, especially if the dogs are barking.

On the flip side, I’m doing a lot of “I’m sorry, what?” responses to the hubby. 😆

At least the OTC ones have Bluetooth connectivity, so I can at least hear calls and/or music from my phone. It’s easier to talk on the phone when I can hear via both ears instead of just one. 🤪

Christmas is coming!

  1. Oh, you always have the best funnies! I’m so glad you got a cool loaner this time and hope your husband doesn’t give up on talking to you completely while you wait for the new hearing aids. Grandma has about given up talking to Grandpa because he won’t wear his, and I think he likes it that way!
