Hello my favorite Monday peeps! November has arrived – crazy how fast time is flying. But it’s my favorite time of year… I love fall, getting my extra hour of sleep back, and Thanksgiving! Meanwhile, since it is Monday, you know that Monday means music! This week is a freebie week, so grab your favorite tune(s) and come dance with us, won’t you?

Let’s start with a song from this favorite group, crafted entirely in Blender, a free, open-source software for creating 3D art. The group’s frontman controlled the main character in real time via face-capture; unlike the careful determinism of traditional animation, this system captures a live performance. He said:

“It began with my love of Lucas Zanatto’s short animated loops — they’re so inventive, so full of joy, always delivering little doses of the kind of wonder we’re always searching for in our own videos. So I thought the universe flowing from his brain might be the perfect setting for a lyric video, but when I reached out to him, he had a more ambitious project to propose: a ‘live performance’ with me AS one of his characters. Suddenly it was a much weirder, more wonderful project than what I’d envisioned.”

The Blender COO said:

“Blender Studio is all about exploring technical and artistic solutions for creative challenges, and this project is a perfect example. We are proud to support and partner with these talented artists, who share Blender’s values of creating and sharing knowledge with the world.”

Prepare to be mesmerized, here’s OK Go with “Impulse Purchase”:

Next up is a brand new song from this favorite artist – I couldn’t find any specific background on this song, except that it’s from his newest album and he’s teaming up with various artists for the songs on said album. I enjoyed this song, and I know you will, too!

Here’s Bon Jovi and Lainey Wilson with “I Wrote You A Song”:

Next is a new song from this favorite artist that explores the aftermath of a significant emotional event, perhaps a relationship or a personal struggle. In the first verse, lines like “Can you see the wreckage now / Of all we had and all we lost?” vividly convey a sense of lingering pain and reflection.

The song’s core message is one of acceptance and the importance of moving forward, even when the future feels uncertain. It serves as a poignant reminder of how delicate human experiences can be and the beauty that arises from navigating them.

Without further ado, here’s the always amazing Ed Sheeran with “Don’t Look Down”:

Last but certainly not least, this favorite artist recently dropped a brand new album (and yes, I have it…heh!), and this song perfectly speaks to an experience most of us can relate to: not acting on a friend crush due to fear of ruining said friendship.

Should’ve kissed you anyway / And it was not convenient, no / But your girlfriend was away / Should’ve kissed you anyway

Her story takes place in high school with references to prom and corsages, not to mention these lyrics:

Don’t make it awkward in second period / Might piss your ex off, lately we’ve been good / Staying friends is safe, doesn’t mean you should

The song is based on personal experience, thanks to a reference to her real-life high school best friend, Abigail, who told the artist that her former crush had passed. These emotional lyrics describe her flying home for the funeral:

Abigail called me with the bad news / Goodbye, and we’ll never know why / It was not an invitation / But I flew home anyway / With so much left to say / It was not convenient, no / But I whispered at the grave / ‘Should’ve kissed you anyway.’

The song ends with a message to listeners, saying:

My advice is always ruin the friendship / Better that than regret it for all time.

Here’s the inimitable Taylor Swift with “Ruin The Friendship”:

That’s a wrap for this week – have a great Monday! See you on the dance floor!

  1. This will definitely be the most unique playlist I will hear today and Impulse Purchase will be the most creative video I will see for a long time. The Laney Wilson-Bon Jovi collab is really good and Ed Shearin is simply one of the best songwriters, performers working today. I’ve never been a “Swiftie” and I will just leave it at that. Have a blessed week.

  2. I wish they’d leave the time alone. The universe will do its thing regardless of what man dictates anyhow, so why screw up our internal clocks? There’s no reason! The time change really doesn’t bother me like it once did. I believe it’s just a mind game anyhow. 🙂

I enjoyed Bon Jovi and Laney Wilson duet! Thanks for sharing, darlin’. Have a boogietastic week, dear Stacy! xo

  3. The OK Go video was so creative – oh, what we can do with computer technology! (I liked the song, too). My favorite was the Bon Jovi duet and close behind was the OK Go (it grew on me as the song progressed) and Taylor Swift.
