Thankful Thanksgiving Week All is (finally) Right in My World and Random Funnies: Random Tuesday Thoughts

Hello, my favorite Tuesday peeps! It’s here, it’s here! Thanksgiving week is here! 🦃 Hopefully, you all have amazing plans this week. I’ve been working too many hours each week, so I personally am looking forward to having a bona fide 4-day weekend—that break is long overdue, let me tell you. 😉

Hurry-up-and-wait mode is finally over! Last week was not only a crazy work week, but I got the call on Tuesday my hearing aids were back from their warranty refresh. So glad to have my ‘good ears’ back! 😅

Then, later that afternoon, I got the good news that my car was finally ready to pick up (again)! So another trip down to Vancouver to bring it home where it belongs. 😉 I realized on the way back that I’d driven the loaner more than I’ve driven my new car – that I got on October 3rd. 😱 Crazy, I know. Now I have to refamiliarize myself with my new wheels – again. Challenge accepted!

This Wednesday I go in to order my new hearing aids – thankfully I’m ‘eligible’ for a new pair via my hubby’s insurance, and they’ve made some significant improvements to the technology, so I’m excited to see how much better they’ve become three years on. My pickup date is scheduled for the day after Christmas – at least that travel day will be less hectic than driving the hour up to this Wednesday’s appointment on the busiest travel day of the year.

I’m thinking I’ll be driving all back roads to and from – it’ll add 30 minutes to my trip each way (1 hr, 18 minutes vs. 52 minutes). Still, I think it’ll be worth it to avoid the angst of freeway driving when that section of the freeway is always cray-cray on ‘regular’ busy days, not when everyone and their brother is on the road. There will always be a backup somewhere on the freeway along that route – either by sheer volume or accidents. I don’t want to get stuck in any of that, potentially. I’d much rather take the less stressful scenic route. 😘
