Celebrating a New Ride with Random Funnies: Random Tuesday Thoughts

Here we are, the first Tuesday of October – my brain keeps thinking it’s still September, though. Just another expample of time flying by way too fast.

So it’s official – I got my new wheels on Friday! 

It drives like a dream! It was kind of bittersweet waiting for my Juke to get taken ‘in the back’ while we finalized paperwork:

I took that pic through the dirty window at the dealership. It was a fun car to drive, but it was time to go back to an automatic vs. stick, and something a little higher off the ground. 😅

The Cadillac handled nicely on the hour-plus drive home, and the hubby was nice enough to wash it and apply a clear ceramic coat over the weekend to preserve the paint. There were a couple of features that were in the ad that actually aren’t present in this car (adaptive cruise control, head up display, but I’ve lived without those all my driving life, so no big deal to me).

The potentially problematic issues is a major dent in the side piece next to the windshield, and a small tear in the driver’s seat leather, but those are things I can get fixed fairly easily locally.

The one issue I’ll definitely have CarMax fix (even though it means driving that hour+ down there again) is that the power adjust for the passenger seat is not working, which also means the massage option isn’t working in that seat. Those work in the driver’s seat (you know, the most important seat), but I want to make sure that’s functioning for the amount I paid. I’m confident they’ll fix it, it’ll just mean time out of my busy schedule to get it taken care of, but it’ll be worth it.

Plus, I don’t drive much since I work from home, so it’ll be an excuse to drive it a good distance! 😜

The hubby recently got himself an (older) Lincoln Town Car, and took this pic of our cars in the driveway on Sunday:

He posted that pic on Facebook with this:

“Stacy’s car seems way too happy to be in our driveway. What a big beautiful smile! But they do say that car faces mimic owner faces so there’s that! Do we look old?”

That cracked me up, and awwwww! 😊

Even though it seems like Christmas came early this year, it’s still loooooming…
