Car Update and Random Funnies: Random Tuesday Thoughts

Hello, my favorite Tuesday peeps! Well, I drove the hour+ to have the issues with my new car taken care of last Friday, and they decided they needed it all day. They said they were going to get me a Lyft ride home and back, but once I got there and they realized it was 65 miles one way, they decided to give me a loaner car instead. 😅

The two features listed in the details of the Cadillac were indeed missing, so instead of redoing all the loan paperwork (since they’d have to adjust the purchase price), they refunded the transportation fee I had to pay upfront to ship it from California to Washington. I’m cool with that! They also weren’t able to get the issues fully addressed on Friday, so they asked to keep it until yesterday (Monday).

They didn’t hear back from the Cadillac dealer they were trying to connect with to get the passenger seat functions repaired (lumbar support and massage feature), so I drove the hour+ down there to fetch my car – I didn’t want to have to drive the crappy loaner for a couple of weeks, y’know? 😆

Murphy’s Law – when I was halfway home, they called to let me know they finally heard from the Cadillac dealer. But the earliest appointment is November 3rd, so they’ve asked me to bring my car back on the 2nd so they can take it over to the Cadillac dealer on the 3rd, and we’ll see how long they need to keep it this time. At least they’re fixing everything at no cost to me, so that’s cool. And I’ll get to enjoy driving it for the driving I need to do over the next couple of weeks.

They did fix the tear in the leather in the driver’s seat – you can’t even tell there was one! They fixed the dent in the support bar by the windshield—the paint was flaking terribly there, and you could see metal, so I was concerned about future rust issues. All touched up nicely! Since I’ll obviously be sent home with another loaner, I’m going to ask if they’ll give me a better loaner than the clunker they sent me home with for the weekend…😏
