It’s Hotter than the Hinges of Hell AGAIN; “No” is a Complete Sentence; Random Funnies: Random Tuesday Thoughts

Hello, my favorite Tuesday peeps! We’re once again in the middle of yet another heatwave… just when the house finally got back to a reasonable temp. All that’s gone, now, it’s stinkin’ hot in the house and unbearable outside.

But it looks like we’ll be getting back to ‘normal’ temps starting tomorrow for the rest of the week. 🤞🏼

I can handle 80-degree temps, as long as it cools off significantly overnight. It’s these upper 90s that ‘feel like’ the hottest hinges of hell temps, and barely cooling off to the upper 60s that really stick in my craw. 😅

The hubby had a double-gig day on Saturday – both outdoors, and yes, it was 95 degrees (with feels-like temps of 100+). Crazy. We still had fun, though. I sat at a table during the first one that was near trees for more shade, so I only got part of the band on stage:

The band played from 3 pm-6 pm, then we had to race to the second gig almost an hour away to make sure the guys were set up for a start time of 8 pm. We got there with plenty of time to spare, and the duo was able to get set up just in time:

That gig ran from 8 pm-11 pm, so thankfully the sun set and the air finally started cooling off. During the last set, there were some very drunk people trying to dance, and at the very end, a very drunk guy kept trying to get me to dance with him.

No matter how many times I kept saying “No, thank you”, he kept persisting. At one point, he went up by himself and pretended to be dancing with someone, then looked over at me and pointed, indicating he wanted me to replace the invisible woman he was dancing with.

The answer was still no.

“No” really is a complete sentence! 😆

When we finally got home, when we opened the front door, it was noticeably hotter inside the house than outside, since I wasn’t there to open windows once the sun went down. We scrambled to get windows open, then hung out for about an hour before finally trundling off to bed around 1 am. Took forever for our core body temp to fully cool off! I’m so ready for cooler weather.

Perhaps things will be cool by the time Christmas rolls around…heh!

  1. It’s good to hear you and your husband survived the gigs and heat. I do hope you get more seasonal temps now.

Thanks for the laughs, especially the cat. Caesar sure knows how to show he’s boss.
