it’s a Fantasy vs. Fantasy in a Hideaway with Strangers and a Hollow Man!

Hello September! How did you get here so fast?! I really need to learn the art of not blinking… Meanwhile, since it is Monday, you know that Monday means music! This week is a freebie week, so grab your favorite tune(s) and come dance with us, won’t you?

Let’s start with a new song from this group that balances infectious melodies with poignant lyrics about connection and love. This is one of the songs from the album that highlights a more mature and reflective aspect of this group. The track carries a distinct Elvis Costello vibe, infused with a contemporary twist that genuinely surprised me.

Give a listen to the OK Go with “Fantasy vs. Fantasy”:

Next up is a brand new song by this favorite group from their recently released eighth album. I couldn’t find much info on the story behind the song, aside from that the song lyrics suggest the lead singer escaping to a secluded place or retreating from a situation to find refuge and privacy with his wife. It’s a great song, so of course I had to share it.

Give a listen to Maroon 5 with Hideaway”:

Next up is a brand-new song from Australia’s very first Eurovision representative back in 2015, who has just released a brand new album featuring 13 tracks carefully crafted to blend a variety of vibes and emotions. This song is about drifting apart from people who once felt like home, where the artist’s heartfelt vocals are sure to stir something deep inside. He said:

“[This song]  is an unreleased track and my second favourite on the album. It’s all about that feeling of when you go from strangers, to lovers, to strangers again…”

Get ready for some goosebumps, here’s Guy Sebastian with “Strangers”

Last but certainly not least is a song that two of my favorite ‘old school’ artists teamed up to revisit. The leading artist is revisiting his 2024 album with an all-star guest list; the Legendary Edition is due out in October.

For this song, these two New Jersey legends team up on a rerecording of the track that originally closed the 2024 LP. The collaboration album was conceived as the singer recovered from vocal cord surgery while promoting the original LP. He said:

“This album is more than just a collection of collaborations; it is an album borne out of necessity. My vocal cord surgery and subsequent rehab was a well-documented journey that played out while releasing Forever in June 2024. I was singing well enough in the studio for the recording, but the vocal demands and rigors of touring were still out of reach for me. Without the ability to tour or promote an album we were all very proud of, I decided to call on some friends to help me in my time of need.”

Without further ado, here are the inimitable Bon Jovi featuring Bruce Springsteen with “Hollow Man”:

That’s a wrap for this week – have a great Monday! See you on the dance floor!

  1. I can’t swear to it but I’m pretty sure all of the songs in this set are new to me. I, especially enjoyed the last pick with Bon Jovi ft. Springsteen. Thanks for sharing and have a boogietastic week, darlin’ Stacy! xo

  2. I really enjoyed the songs here especially the first and last one. The one about.lost love with the girl on the.bus, was very sad. One of my dearest friends is going through separation and her ex is making things rough. It’s a screwed situation.

  3. Guy Sebastian’s song really touched my heart, especially the ending. That was my favorite of the set, with Bon Jovi/Bruce Springsteen a close second.
