Sis is Coming for a Visit; Mom’s Turning 80; Wedding Anniversary on the Horizon and Random Funnies: Random Tuesday Thoughts

Hello, my favorite Tuesday peeps! In case you were concerned, my sister was able to get her air conditioning fixed the same day the dude came out, and it didn’t break the bank! Thankfully, she was able to get through that crazy heat dome they’ve been experiencing in Kansas.

She flies out later today and will be here for a week—we’re celebrating my mom’s 80th birthday on Thursday. 🥳 I picked up this cool ‘phone’ – it’s an audio guest book:

Isn’t that cool? I thought it’d be fun – and since it’s a vintage-style phone, my mom would appreciate it. Plus, she’ll have the recorded greetings of everyone who attends. I just need to get it set up with a short outgoing message, and we’re in business!

My brother and his wife are graciously hosting at their house, and my brother is even cooking for the crowd, too! The weather is supposed to cooperate, so we’ll be spending a lot of time on their deck with this amazing view:

That was Christmas a number of years ago, when we were there for our annual Christmas Eve brunch. I’ll get updated pictures since they’ve redone their deck since then, and also just recently repainted the outside of their house. I’m looking forward to seeing what magic they’ve created.

Our wedding anniversary is next Monday (together for 27 years, married for 22 years!) – we haven’t even discussed what to do for it…heh! I got him an anniversary gift – he hasn’t yet asked what I’d like; he’ll probably ask over the weekend. He’s Mr. Last-Minute Joe… LOL!

But to be honest, I really don’t need anything, as I have too much stuff already that I’m trying to downsize. When we get to our 25th anniversary, though, I want to go on a trip somewhere cool – or maybe, finally, do a wine tour in Italy that’s been on my bucket list forever. So he’s got 3 more years to figure that one out. 😅
