Another June Heatwave in the Pacific Northwest and Random Funnies: Random Tuesday Thoughts

Hello, my favorite Tuesday peeps! You know how most people assume that it always rains in the Pacific Northwest (i.e., Seattle and the surrounding area)? Yeah… about that. We’ve had heat advisories for the past couple of days – I know, right?!

It’s interesting – remember we had that ‘heat dome’ the beginning of June 2021? Well, it seems we now keep having ‘excessive heat’ coupled with ‘Heat Advisories’ or ‘Excessive Heat Warnings’ every year since, and always during the first part of June.

It’s becoming an annual event! Which is not a fun way to kick off the summer months, in my opinion. I like the gradual ramp-up of heat, you know, to get acclimated to it. Usually, our 90+ degree weather doesn’t happen until August, when it’s basically expected, and close enough to the beginning of fall so you know it won’t stick around too long. But June? Madness.

And of course, we still don’t have central air in our 1930s house. I know, I know – I keep saying we’re going to do it, but other things have taken priority over getting that done. And of course, I’m sure the costs will only continue to go up and up, which will make us put it off even longer.
