Monday has arrived yet again—it seems to be consistent that way, no? And it’s March already! How’d that happen?! We’re back to rainy days here in the Pacific Northwest – If I didn’t know any better, I’d say we’ve achieved spring status… But I better not jinx things and invoke Murphy’s Law, or we’ll have a major freeze in April like we did last year or the year before (or both)!

Meanwhile, it is Monday; you know that Monday means music! This week is a freebie week, so grab your favorite tune(s) and come dance with us, won’t you?

Let’s start with a brand new song from this favorite 90s boy band—formed in 1993 in Orlando, Florida, they have cemented themselves as one of the greatest boy bands of all time. In April, they will celebrate their 32-year anniversary and have no plans of slowing down. They said:

“We’ve been at this for 32 years, but to get to a point where we’re like the Rolling Stones of the pop world — they’ve been together for 60 years — we’re going to keep doing this until we probably physically can’t. We truly love what we do.”

This new song recently released was originally created for their ninth studio album, 2019’s “DNA.” At the time, the song didn’t quite match sonically with the rest of the album.

“We were trying to cram it in last minute, and it just didn’t work. So we were like, ‘Hey, this is a gem. It’s special.’ We wanted to hold on to it and the time came around, this announcement happened, it was like, ‘Oh my gosh, what better way to present a brand-new song?’ So it turned out perfect.”

Give a listen to Backstreet Boys with “Hey”:

Next is a recently released song from a collaboration between these to amazing artists, singing about making sacrifices for a romantic partner. Oh, was it all a game? / Look what our lovе became / I gave you everything I had

The chorus is especially emotional, evoking the imagery of a house burning down. Said I’m the one who’s wanted / For all the fires you started / You knew the house was burning down / I had to get out

One of the artists said:

“I’m excited to be collaborating on a newer rendition of ‘Burning Down’ with Alex. His voice and songwriting are incredible. It’s been exciting to watch such a talented artist grow and come into his own.

‘Burning Down’ was already such a powerhouse song, so when he asked me to be a part of this version, I was honored. We had so much fun in the studio together and I hope that comes across when people hear it.”

The other artist said:

“It’s surreal that someone I grew up admiring connected with my music so deeply that they wanted to collaborate on a new take on the song.

Working with Joe has been amazing—not only because he’s incredibly talented and added a whole new layer to the record but also because he’s such an incredible human,” he continued. “We click both in and out of the studio, making this collaboration even more special to me.”

Here’s Alex Warren and Joe Jonas with “Burning Down”:

Next up is a brand new song from this favorite group, just released on February 21st. I couldn’t find anything about its background or story, but its extremely catchy beat and amazing vocals make it so irresistible to listen to, with the song itself representing how eager we are to run away from life’s problems.

Give a listen to Imagine Dragons with “My Car”:

Last but certainly not least is a brand new song from this favorite country star, described as a “deeply personal” song for the artist, and is the only track entirely written by the singer on her latest album. Lyrically, the song’s narrator expresses realizing a relationship is over long before it officially ends and self-reflecting rather than blaming her partner, which she calls “an admission of human error. It’s an apology… but it’s also a resolve”.

The song was written 10 years before its release, but the artist ultimately wasn’t ready to perform it at the time, so it went unreleased. She was encouraged by many in her inner circle—including both her husband and producer—who had heard the song as a demo for years to record it for her latest album. On finally releasing the song, she said:

“For my fans that stay with me, I promised myself to tell my real, honest stories and real, honest truth. I promised myself and them that I would do that, and so I can’t back out of that now”.

Though it is speculated based on the time of its writing and the lyrical content to be inspired by her previous divorce, the singer has not publicly commented on the inspiration for the song directly.

The music video for the song premiered on February 20, 2025, filmed at Don Donnelly’s D Spur Ranch & Riding Stables in Gold Canyon, Arizona, and features the singer amidst picturesque desert scenery. The artist’s own horse, Cool, makes an appearance in the video, with the singer saying:

“There is always a sense of freedom when you’re on the back of a horse with the wind in your hair, so it felt really significant to have Cool with me in this video. I love horses because they’re a way to run to something – or away if you need to. I started riding when I turned 30 and wanted to try more things that scared me. Now horses are such a passion of mine and mounted shooting is a brand-new way to push myself and to chase that feeling of being bravely true to yourself, which is exactly what this song is about.”

Without further ado, here’s Miranda Lambert with “Run”:

That’s a wrap for this week – have a great Monday! See you on the dance floor!

  1. It’s felt like spring here but like you I don’t want to jinx it. We’re still getting some cool nights but I can tolerate it as long as we aren’t in a deep freeze state. 🙂 Anyway, it’s March. The months are flying right out the window. Fabulous song picks, my friend! Have a boogietastic week. 😉 xo

  2. Backstreet’s back, all right! (I remember them from my son’s childhood). My favorite was a tie between their song and Burning Down, but I did like all the songs. Enjoyable set today.
