Hello, Monday peeps! Remember when I was hoping we’d have ‘stick around’ snow? Well, we got it in spades last Thursday. Crazy 6-inches! Turned the drab winter landscape into a magical winter wonderland. And, of course, it was then chased away and melted by rain the next few days afterward.
The rain is, of course, sticking around for the next week. Back to dreary and drab! But to combat that – since it is Monday, you know that Monday means music! This week is a freebie week, so grab your favorite tune(s) and come dance with us, won’t you?
Let’s start with a brand new song from this Grammy winner from his new album due out on March 9, 2025. Speaking of the heart behind his new song, the artist says:
“It was written from the valley of the shadow of death. About the opposition we encounter and the power of belief.”
Give a listen to TobyMac with “Can’t Stop Me”:
Next is a brand new song from this favorite British and Canadian singer-songwriter, musician, record producer, and photographer who gained fame in the 90s. This song is from his upcoming 16th studio album due out later this year. He said:
“[This song] is a song about resilience and the spirit of getting back up no matter how hard you’ve been knocked down. This song is for everyone who’s ever felt defeated but chose to fight another day.
I believe the song captures the idea of getting through things when confronted with challenges and disappointment by simply rocking out!”
Give a listen to the inimitable Bryan Adams with “Roll With The Punches”:
Next up, released this past Friday (Valentine’s Day), this artist released this tender ballad in celebration of the holiday alongside a grayscale video that finds pure romance on every corner in New York City. He said:
“This song is such a special song to me and because it’s Valentine’s Day I wanted to share this with you as a gift to say I love you.”
The video features a cast of more than two dozen people sharing glimpses into passing moments of love and care. There’s a young couple slow dancing under a cluster of balloons, an older couple glancing out of the train window, and a group of women filming silly videos together. The artist makes an appearance towards the end, swaying to the sound of their own record.
This marks the latest release from the artist since they shared the 10th-anniversary edition of a previous album last year. They said:
“Revisiting the start of my career has been the most incredible experience. I will always be the most proud of In the Lonely Hour as it was my first baby steps into music. I listen back to the album now and it feels like looking back at old photos, a mix of emotions, but I love the record and I still love singing these songs so much. This album was written about a period of unrequited love in my life. It’s a real life coming-of-age story.”
Get ready for goosebumps, here’s Sam Smith with “Love Is A Stillness”:
Last, but certainly not least, the world of country music has yet again been graced with another cross-genre collaboration. On Friday, February 14th these two – one a British singer and songwriter, the other award-winning American country singer, songwriter, and actress released their newly remixed single. This song was released by the British singer songwriter about three months ago, inspired by stories from friends in his life.
Now, with the country singer-songwriter on board, expect the song to circulate the airwaves and exist in your ears for the foreseeable future. Per the press release, it seems the two had quite the time in the studio. The British artist said:
“I’m so excited to share this remix of ‘[this song]’ with the incredible Lainey Wilson. I have been a fan of hers for a long time! She has such a distinctive voice and an unreal ability to tell a story through it! Having her jump on this and put her own melodic spins on the song just took it to a whole new level and gave it a new life.”
Regarding the collaboration, the country artist shared:
“Myles is such an exciting new star, and this song hit me hard on first listen. I’m so happy to have a new version with him.”
Without further ado, here’s Myles Smith and Lainey Wilson with “Nice To Meet You”:
That’s a wrap for this week – have a great Monday! See you on the dance floor!

Nice songs and I hope you get to see the sun some time.
Very nice
Stacy,
I’m glad you got some snow! We’re in for a bit ourselves tomorrow. It’s turned cold again and is expected to get colder before the week is done. Ugh!
Amen to Toby Mac’s “Can’t Stop Me” because there’s such power in believing. It’s my belief in the Almighty who gets me through the lows in life. He is my anchor!
“Nice to Meet You” has a fun vibe. I love listening to cross genre artists coming together!
Thanks for sharing the dance floor with me and have a boogietastic week, darlin’ friend! xo
I’m not one for the rap song but I did enjoy the others especially the last song. Hey, on the weekend we got 1 1/2feet of snow mixed in with some freezing rain at the beginning.
The first two songs were my favorites this week, especially TobyMac’s song.
