Hello, Monday peeps! We made it through the longest year – January. 😅 And apparently, the groundhog saw his shadow yesterday, so we’ve got a wee bit more winter to come our way; we did get some snow over the weekend – it stuck nicely, then melted, then snowed again. Over and over again. I wouldn’t mind a snow day or two of actual stick-around snow. 😉

Since it is Monday, you know that Monday means music! This week is a freebie week, so grab your favorite tune(s) and come dance with us, won’t you?

Let’s start with a brand new song (just released on January 31st) with the teaming up of two bands you wouldn’t have pictured teaming up. The country group teamed up with a popular pop group for this stunning power ballad about heartbreak.

“We’re so excited to kick off this next chapter of Rascal Flatts with this single, working with Kevin, Joe and Nick is such a blast, they’re class acts. I think this song fits perfectly into our catalogue while also showing off something new and exciting, and we can’t wait to share it with our fans on the road!

In 2020, we announced the farewell tour after being on the road extensively for 20 years. To put it simply, we needed a break. Then COVID hit and our plans came to a screeching halt, like the rest of the world. Since then, we’ve been able to revisit our unique and special experience as a band and we’re ready to get out on the road again.”

Next is another collaboration between this favorite alternative rock group and an artist with tropical house vibes. It’s a natural collaboration for these chart-topping artists; on this song, they show their individual strengths and an impressive synergy. The video’s really cool, too. 😉

Next is a brand new song from this favorite 90s boy band all grown up – and they’re back! this song was released back in November; their newest album was released just last month. They said:

“We are thrilled and excited to be finally releasing a new album for the first time in a long time. We hope our fans will enjoy the new songs as much as we did recording them. As always, we’re thankful to our fans for giving us the opportunity to live our dream! “

Get ready to dance; here’s 98° with “Got U”:

Last but certainly not least is a brand new song from this favorite artist, released on January 10th, from his ninth studio project that will be released on March 7th. This song follows the stories of people passing through difficult times and reflecting on how the only way they came through their trials was with God, and reveals that life is all about perspective and that we can choose to see things as a coincidence or the hand of God. The artist said:

“After hard things hit us, we can recover – we can be strong again. The songs on this album have taken me from the journey of LIFE AFTER DEATH, where I felt the slap of pain and wrestled with God through the why and how, and ‘what did I do wrong,’ to discovering His love again.

It’s brought me to a place of loving Him deeper – more than ever before – and altered not only my journey in life, but my journey with God. I love Him more, I trust Him more, and I’ve discovered that He is better, kinder, and sweeter than I ever thought possible. These songs reflect it all.”

Without further ado, here’s TobyMac with “God Did It”:

That’s a wrap for this week – have a great Monday! See you on the dance floor!

  1. My favorites this week were the last two songs, although I like when members of two different music genres get together – it makes for some interesting music.
