Kicking Off the New Year with Random Funnies: Random Tuesday Thoughts

Happy New Year, my favorite Tuesday peeps! Anyone else a little melancholy that all the fun (albeit hectic) holiday season is now over? I love all the festivities (even the hustle and bustle) of November and December. When January rolls around, it’s kind of sad because it’s a long time before we have any significant holidays to relax and reset. It’s back to the old grind!

I have decided, though, that I’m going to take the same week off the hubby has spring break from the college he teaches at – we’re going to join forces to eliminate the clutter and stacks’o’boxes that are Driving. Me. Crazy. I’d really like to reclaim my house before it gets fully ensconced into hoarder territory…heh! Plus, like I’ve been saying for several years now, I really, really want to get my winemaking room set up!

So, the last week of March, while I do have some work stuff that will still need to be done for clients, we’ll be pedal to the metal (and having a dumpster delivered to our driveway) to see how much we can get done in a week-ish. I’ll keep you posted!

Time for another update on my sister! The doctors were finally able to wean her off the meds that were forcing her heart to beat; her heart is finally beating on its own, so she was able to move into a regular room just in time for New Year. She’s getting stronger every day, and determined to do what needs to be done to bust out of the hospital. 😅 They’ve set goals for her – she needs to get out of bed and move as much as possible, and once she’s reached that goal, she can finally go home.

She only has to have dialysis every other day at the moment; they’re hoping to be able to reduce that in the future as well. Baby steps! Just so happy that she’s turned several corners from when she was first admitted. I wonder which of her nine lives she’s on at the moment? 😁
