Dun dun dun! It’s December! Holy moly, this year has gone by super fast.

It probably hasn’t helped any that I’ve been logging 50-ish hours per week work-wise. I finally did get a break for this 4-day weekend – I stayed true to my word and didn’t check my work email all weekend long! Of course, that meant I had a ton of stuff to read and deal with yesterday…heh! But it was worth it!

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving! We had a nice, low-key, mellow one, and the food I got from our local BBQ place was absolutely fantastic. The post-dinner clean-up was the fastest and easiest I’ve ever had to do in years. If they do this again next year, I’ll definitely be on board for it again!

They’re talking about possibly doing a surf and turf for Christmas – prime rib and shrimp. I’m tempted – though I always watch for the sales on prime rib near Christmas and snag a prime rib for us – it’s easy (for me) to cook, so I might do Christmas dinner myself. We’ll see!

Speaking of Christmas, it will be here before you know it! Case in point:

Countdown to Christmas

Next Monday is my birthday! I posted these funnies on Facebook on Sunday:

Those of us with December birthdays can sometimes be forgotten about – out of four kids, three of us were born in December. I know, right? In fact, the twins were born one year and three days after me, so we always lumped our birthdays together over the years.

When I was a kid, I thought it was unfair that my brother and sister got to open their presents three days early. 😂 As an adult, I’m thankful our birthdays are so close together – it makes it easier with our busy schedules to plan one big shindig to celebrate all three of us. 😉

Naturally, my older sister, born in August, got bonus birthday gifts in December because my grandpa didn’t want her to feel left out. That really stuck in my craw back in the day, too…heh! But now I feel bad for her since she lives in Kansas, and the rest of us are here in Washington State – she’s made the trip a few times over the years to get in on the birthday and Christmas celebrations, but it’s been a few years since she’d been able to do that.

She’s hoping to be able to make the trip out next summer for my mom’s 80th birthday in July. Fingers crossed!

Let’s jump into the funnies, shall we? These are valid:
