December is here, people! The last month of the year. The Holiday Season is officially in full swing. Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving! Since it is Monday, that, of course, means music! This week’s theme is “What makes you think of Christmas?” Christmas songs, of course! So, let’s get this Christmas party started!

Let’s start with a song this artist penned about his favorite time of the year. He said:

“I wanted to write a song about my struggles as a traveler trying to make it home to celebrate Christmas with my family. I’m sure a lot of people can relate. Sometimes, it takes tenacious desire!”

He also released a cartoon visual to accompany the song. He said:

“An animated video gave us the perfect canvas for humor, heart, and colorful imagery to my song. . . so bring on the holidays, baby!”

Next up, is a brand new sweet holiday duet by this artist and her 11-year old daughter. She said:

“We hope this song makes families smile and encourages them to laugh and have fun together as they wait patiently (or not!) for Christmas. My favorite line from the song is about how it feels better to give than to receive, and if we could say anything about the Christmas season, it is that we hope you have a giving heart. That’s what really makes Christmas special — the gift of your time to the people you love, and the gift of your generosity to those in need.

Last year Eisele, her dad, and I sat and wrote this song after a little family drama trying to explain to her sisters, Betsy and Emory, why we were not able to open every single day of the advent calendar. This conversation led into all the other reasons why it is hard to wait for Christmas.”

Get ready for goosebumps, here’s Hillary Scott and her daughter Eisele Kay with “Hard To Wait For Christmas”:

Next is an R&B-inspired country number that finds one of the duo pining for an invitation to spend the holidays with his new love interest. He longs to meet her high school friends, go caroling, and learn her traditions instead of spending Christmas alone by his fire at home. This is one of two holiday songs that this duo released in 2020. One of the duo said that writing their Yuletide music put them in a festive mood:

“Especially right now with all the craziness that’s going on, I feel like it was pretty therapeutic for us to sit down and think of a better time. Christmas is, like, the only thing that can save 2020 at this point, so it was kind of cool to reminisce and put ourselves in our happy place. I think everyone has memories tied to Christmas!”

Without further ado, here’s Dan + Shay with “Take Me Home For Christmas”:

Last but certainly not least is a brand new song from this favorite artist, who just released his first-ever Christmas album on November 1st, a culmination of Christmas film references, dysfunctional families, and cover songs all wrapped in a classic pop country music encasing. It’s not your typical PG-rated Christmas album. However, it’s undoubtedly a fun one for country music families to sing on Christmas Eve.

Get ready to dance, here’s Walker Hayes with “Christmas Vacation”:

That’s a wrap for this week – have a great Monday! See you on the dance floor!
