It’s the last week of October, people! Well, technically, we’re at the last four days. Four days of October left, and then there are only two months left of 2024! Whoa! Crazy how fast time is flying by! But since it is Monday, you know that Monday means music! This week is a freebie week, so grab your favorite tune(s) and come dance with us, won’t you?
Let’s start with a brand new song from this favorite Platinum #1 hit singer-songwriter, who just released his final project in 2024’s journey through a trio of EPs for his fans.
Celebrating the beauty found in the simple, fundamental aspects of love, the captivating rhythms and heartfelt lyrics will remind listeners of the magic in life’s most essential moments. Navigating feelings of desire and admiration, the artist uses his signature sound to explore his heart in this romantic lineup of songs. He said:
“Leonardo Da Vinci said ‘simplicity is the ultimate sophistication,’ going back to basics is about appreciating the simple things in love and life. The world can be tough, ‘[this song]’ is about the comfort we find in the simplicity of being with the one we love.”
Give a listen to Blanco Brown with “Back 2 Basics”:
Next is a brand new song from this favorite artist, who posted about it on the day of its release on Social Media:
“[This song] is a song that celebrates this beautiful place that we call home, from sea to shining sea. The truth matters. And the truth is on election day I’ll be voting for @KamalaHarris and @Tim_Walz because I believe in the power of we, not of me. I’ve written a song reminding us that out of many, we are still one.”
This new ballad comes after the artist underwent vocal surgery following years of famed musicianship. Pretty impressive!
Even more impressive – on World Suicide Prevention Day, the artist was filming the video for [this song] on the John Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge in Nashville when he noticed a woman preparing to jump into the Cumberland River. He approached the woman, and with the help of another person who happened to be on the bridge, he was able to talk the lady down and step back over the guard rail to safety.
Give a listen to Jon Bon Jovi and The War And Treaty with “The People’s House”:
Next is a brand new cover of a 70s tune from a favorite UK band who are getting back into the Halloween spirit – perfect with this week being Halloween week! Their take on on this song is propulsive, slinky, and just the right touch of sinister, with the band blending elements of new wave, disco, and rock. One of the artists said:
“[The album] was born from a spontaneous decision to pull together a record which celebrated the madness and joy of Halloween. The process unlocked an unexpected box of curiosity and creativity.”
The inspiration was still there when the band started thinking about the new deluxe edition of the album:
“I loved the idea of expanding the collection because we could. Why not add some of the songs that we considered initially now that we had the luxury of a little more time?”
Without further ado, here’s Duran Duran with their cover of ELO’s “Evil Woman”:
Last but certainly not least is a new song from this favorite artist who is always saying (and singing) wonderful things about his amazing wife—they celebrated their 20th wedding anniversary back in June. This newest song is hilarious – fans of the artist and his wife will appreciate this playful new country cut. The artist recognizes Dolly Parton and her hit “9 to 5” but says he does his best work after hours. 😉
From 5 to 9, 5 to 9 / Forget that dollar, going home to a dime
This newest song serves as more than just a wife appreciation song—fans will be able to insert their personal story into lyrics that reconnect him with the blue-collar crowd that fell in love with the Applebee’s song. He’s sort of like Gretchen Wilson in how he speaks to the Walmart crowd, and songs released since 2021 haven’t strayed necessarily. He has explored new territory on subsequent albums and songs.
Get ready for some fun, here’s Walker Hayes with “5 to 9”:
That’s a wrap for this week – have a great Monday! See you on the dance floor!

Duran Duran’s cover of Evil Woman is a great pick. I stumbled on this awhile back. They do a great job. Walker Hayes “9 to 5” I thought was going to be a cover of Dolly’s hit but it’s different. Cool! Have a fun, safe, and boogietastic week, Stacy!
L9ve the songs and that’s an interesting take on the ELO song although I prefer the original. I had heard about Bon Jovi helping that woman. That is very magnanimous of him. I hope she is receiving good treatment. Have a wonderful day!
Duran Duran’s cover of Evil Woman is great
Great songs here. Very nice.
Another fun playlist. I never would have guessed Duran Duran for the Evil Woman cover, and the 5 to 9 song was so much fun. Alana ramblinwitham
