We’ve arrived in September, people! My favorite season is looming! Enjoying this 3-day weekend, an extra day of ‘no alarm’ is always appreciated. 😉 Since it is Monday, you know that Monday means music! This week is a freebie week, so grab your favorite tune(s) and come dance with us, won’t you?

Let’s start with a beachy new single from this favorite group, which is perfect since this is the last hurrah of summer, with the lyrics:

Two-week vacation with frozen libations and flip-flops wrapped up and a view / Of a wide open ocean where the world’s in slow motion / An umbrella and two blue chairs & you

Give a listen to Zac Brown Band with “Two Blue Chairs & You”:

Next is a new duet from a Multi-Platinum country singer and Grammy-nominated artist who have made history with their new collaboration. The track became the No. 1 most-added song on both country and pop radio simultaneously, making these two the first male artists to achieve this feat. They join the ranks of Taylor Swift and Beyoncé for this career milestone. This is also the first collaboration to receive the distinction.

Here’s Kane Brown and Marshmello with “Miles On It”:

Next is a brand new song collaborated by multiple artists with an operatic, epic-sounding anthem that finds these artists reflecting on their hopes for the future and fears of the present, manifesting greatness amid adversity.

I know somewhere that heaven is waitin’ / And so we pray / I know somewhere there’s something amazin’ / And so we pray / I know somewhere we’ll feel no pain / Until we make it to the end of the day

When asked how the song came about the main artist said:

“‘[The song]’ sort of wrote itself like some of the good songs do. In Taiwan, in the middle of the night, I woke up and the song was in my head, and I don’t know where it came from. So the sound of it sort of dictated itself and that’s all. I just sort of followed the road map that it said.”

When choosing to include features on any project, he said:

“You have to let the song decide; the song sort of says what it needs, and I think that ‘[this song]’ probably arrived from wherever it arrived from because I’ve been thinking a lot about all of these conflicts and people that hate each other. We’re all praying for the same things, and we’d probably all get along if you just sat down long enough. I think that was the field into which it landed, and then it felt very natural that I wouldn’t do all the verses or wouldn’t sing it all on my own.

It felt like it’s a song about different types of people, so we should have different types of people singing it,” he explains. “Burna Boy, Elyanna, TINI, Little Simz, they’re all from different continents and different languages, and that’s what just felt really right.”

Give a listen to Coldplay, Little Simz, Burna Boy, Elyanna, and TINI with “We Pray”:

Last but certainly not least is a new single from this artist’s upcoming album (coming out on October 1st), which will serve as the 2024 College Football Season anthem. The singer, also known for his humanitarian efforts, will donate all net profits from each pre-order of the album on his site to various organizations helping individuals who struggle with mental health and addiction. He said:

“I’m looking for songs that have purpose. When I go to put out a song under the name Jelly Roll, I think to myself, Why? Because for the first time in my life, it has nothing to do with a financial decision. I’m well past putting out anything for money. So, now, it really is a why. Songs like ‘Winning Streak,’ that’s a why.”

Get ready to dance, here’s Jelly Roll with “Get By”:

That’s a wrap for this week – have a great Monday! See you on the dance floor!

  1. I really enjoyed Jelly Roll and he seems to be a genuine nice man. I’m not for the 2nd song as not 9nto rap. Enjoyed the first song. Happy September to you.

  2. My favorites this week were the last two. The more I hear Jelly Roll sing, the more I like him, even without his incredible backstory. It doesn’t surprise me at all that he is donating proceeds from this album.
