Hello Monday peeps! Here it is, the final day of September. Last one. Finito. Can you believe it? Since it is Monday, you know that Monday means music! This week is a freebie week, so grab your favorite tune(s) and come dance with us, won’t you?
Let’s start with a brand new song from this favorite band, whose newest album just dropped last Friday (September 20th). I couldn’t find any specific background on the song itself, but the frontman made this quote recently about the new album:
“‘[The album]’ is all about capturing the essence of relaxation and freedom. We hope this EP provides our fans with a much-needed escape and a chance to unwind.”

Next is a new song from a seven-time Grammy winner with an extra sweet version of one of his previous songs, featuring a worship pastor/songwriter. The single is the first release from an upcoming studio project (release date TBD). The main artist said:
“I’ve had some of the most amazing times that one could ever have on this earth, and I’ve also walked through some things that have hit me very hard. I don’t think we’re that different from one another in that we all experience some beauty and some things that leave us utterly confused and deeply hurting. I wrote ‘[this song]’ because I have been uptown and downtown; I have seen the good of this life and the sorrow by the bitter graveside; and I’ve landed on this: there is nothin’ sweeter in this life than the love of God. It’s what I want to wake up to and what I go to bed to – there’s nothin’ sweeter than His unfailing love.”
Give a listen to TobyMac and John Reddick with “Nothin’ Sweeter”:
Next is a brand new duet by these two country artists, a mesmerizing country love song that tells the story of an undying love that will stand the test of time. The male artist said that he knew immediately upon hearing the song that he wanted the female artist to sing it with him. He said:
“It was a non-negotiable for me; either we sing it together, or I wouldn’t sing it at all. It’s that special to me. Working with Carrie has been an absolute pleasure. She’s not only one hell of a singer, but she’s a class act all the way around. It warms my heart to work with someone who’s seen so much success in their career and they’re still so down to earth. I feel like this duet is going to be massive in so many ways, and I couldn’t be prouder of it!”
His instinct about having her join him was spot-on. Not only do their voices complement each other perfectly, but they both know how to deliver a love song, making this collaboration one of the best in recent years. He recalled his first impression of her, and referred to her as one of his “heroes”.
“You know we’re around the same age, but I always grew up listening to your music going, ‘I wonder what it would be like to be in that position?’ And they say they don’t meet your heroes because you might get disappointed. And I was not disappointed. It’s really a breath of fresh air to meet someone that fame hasn’t affected, and that is really staying grounded. The tide is rising, and the urgency is palpable, urging listeners to seize the moment or risk a lifetime of wondering ‘what if.'”
Give a listen to Cody Johnson and Carrie Underwood with “I’m Gonna Love You”:
Last but certainly not least is a new reflective single from this artist that was written for the singer’s documentary, Child Star, which was released on Hulu on September 17th. She said:
“Working on Child Star was a deeply reflective experience for me. It allowed me to deep dive into emotions from my childhood, while also connecting with others who had so many shared experiences. As we were editing the film, I became very inspired to write a song. The idea of connecting with my younger self through the pain and hardships that came along with child stardom was so important to me. I wrote the song as a letter to my inner child, and I hope that it can give others an opportunity to connect with their inner child as well.”
Child Star explores the highs and lows of growing up in the spotlight through the lens of some of the world’s most well-known former child stars. It features this artist sitting down with celebrities like Drew Barrymore, Kenan Thompson, Christina Ricci, Raven-Symoné, JoJo Siwa, and Alyson Stoner. She co-directed the film alongside Nicola Marsh, marking the singer’s directorial debut.

Great playlist, but Zac Brown Band and Cody Johnson steal the show. Thanks for playing music from these awesome artists. Have a blessed week.
Great songs here. A very nice playlist.
Demi Lovato’s song and video were so beautiful. I’ve never wanted to be a star, and after reading a child star’s memoir several months ago (I’m Glad My Mom Died, by Jennette McCurdy) I’m so happy that I wasn’t. The Zac Brown Band’s offering was so enjoyable, too.
