Boxes’O’Christmas; Cat Antics; and Random Funnies: Random Tuesday Thoughts

Hello my favorite Tuesday peeps! Yesterday was the Monday-est Monday ever! And here we are, a week into September! Looking forward to Mother Nature finishing out her hotflash so we can get to some bonafide fall weather (and cooler air) soon. Just sayin’. 😉

Here comes Christmas! I know it’s 3-1/2 months away, but with how fast time is flying by, it’ll be here before you know it—don’t blink!

Countdown to Christmas

Of course, I’ve fallen into old (read: bad) habits and have been doing my Christmas shopping for the last six months or so (that part isn’t the ‘bad’ part)—half of them are stashed in the house in parts unknown (I’d better start looking now), and the rest are in boxes stacked in the living room marked “Christmas 2024” so I’d know what/where they are. That means that the living room currently looks like a hoarder’s dream room what with all the cardboard boxes stacked waiting for me to start wrapping presents.

Nautica, one of our calico kitties, sure loves those boxes, though – she especially loves sharpening her claws on them. At least it keeps her claws off the furniture, so I’m OK with her shredding the tops of the boxes – I made sure to pad the contents appropriately so she doesn’t end up shredding the contents, and periodically rotate said boxes so she doesn’t dig giant holes in them – which would then put at risk the contents to her claws. No one wants to open a Christmas present that’s been shredded, am I right?
