Monday has arrived! We sure are speeding through the summer, aren’t we? But since it is Monday, you know that Monday means music! This week is a freebie week, so grab your favorite tune(s) and come dance with us, won’t you?

Let’s start with a new song collaborated by an Australian singer, an American singer, and a Swedish singer-songwriter, culminating in an excellent dance song. All three vocalist take turns delivering playful verses about their zodiac signs — “When you asked, ‘What’s your name?’ / ‘What’s your sign?’ I’m Kylie, it’s Gemini” — over an irresistible pop rhythm.

Get ready to dance; here’s Kylie Minogue, Bebe Rexha, and Tove Lo with “My Oh My”:

Next up is a new duet from these two global pop stars they dropped just this past Friday (August 16th), along with their vintage-themed music video. The visual begins with one star singing the lyrics and playing the guitar; the camera later pans out and reveals the other star sitting at a piano with a cigarette in her mouth. The duo, who match in denim and red ensembles, execute flawless harmonies with the band in the background. Every once in a while, flashing lights amp up the intimate environment. The female star said:

“Bruno and I have a lot of mutual respect for each other and were talking about collaborating,” the singer/actress said of the collaboration in a press release statement. “I was finishing up my own album in Malibu and one night after a long day he asked me to come to his studio to hear something he was working on.

It was around midnight when I got there and I was blown away when I heard what he had started making. We stayed up all night and finished writing and recording the song. Bruno’s talent is beyond explanation. His musicianship and vision is next level. There’s no one like him.”

Bruno equally sung praises for his co-star, saying that working with her was an honor:

“She’s an icon and she makes this song magical. I’m so excited for everyone to hear it.”

It’s been a while since either released a solo album—Bruno’s last album was in 2016, and Lady Gaga’s last album was in 2020.

Without further ado, here’s the inimitable Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars with “Die With A Smile”:

Next up is a brand new song collaborated by two country superstars, a late-night weekend anthem, with the Australian-born singer/songwriter putting his talent to use for folks enjoying a carefree night out in a dive bar. With neon lights flashing around him, he strums his guitar and lends his soulful vocals to create a fuzzy, feel-good sound that aims to motivate listeners to let loose and forget their struggles for the weekend.

Your attention is then drawn to the vintage TV set inside the bar, where the other country star appears, and you see footage captured during their live debut of the track on the stage of Nashville’s Nissan Stadium at this year’s CMA Music Festival. With the lyrics, the two continue to relay the story of a couple looking to extend the fun beyond the bar scene. The Australian-born singer is zapped into the vintage TV to join the other in finishing out the song that has those inside the bar singing, dancing, and raising their glasses, fulfilling his goal of creating a tune that “could be sung by any drunk person in any bar anywhere in the world.”

The Australian-born singer was quoted as saying:

“Authenticity and artistry, those things, they don’t always come in the same package, but she’s just the real deal. I mean, it’s no surprise to me that she’s caught fire as fast as she has and despite what she thinks, she’s totally ready…I feel like we’re cut from very similar cloths and I really wanted to find something to do with her. I thought our voices would go well together, and it turned out to be this song. She was it and just took the song to a whole other level.”

Give a listen to Keith Urban and Lainey Wilson with “Go Home W U”:

Last but certainly not least, this favorite artist is still taking a break for health reasons, but one of his songs released last year is prevalent in the new movie that came out last weekend, “It Ends With Us.” It plays during a pivotal moment of the film, which stars Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni. Blake said:

There was only one song for this moment. Once you see it, you’ll feel it for yourself. Lewis Capaldi is beloved for not only his brilliant work, but who he is. I couldn’t be more proud that he told this story with us. This is an honor; I will be grateful for forever. This movie means the world to me.”

Get ready for goosebumps, here’s Lewis Capaldi with “Love The Hell Out Of You”:

  1. That’s quite a mix. I thought I knew Lainey Wilson but I think I was mixing ehr up with someone else…#mondayMusic MovesMe

  2. Interesting playlist! All the songs were new to me. I especially enjoyed Bruno & Gaga and Lewis Capaldi. Keith Urban is a great entertainer and always makes things fun! 🙂

  3. Love the Hell out of You is one powerful song. I know I’m supposed to be discussing the music but I’ve come close to reading the book It Ends with Us by Colleen Hoover, and now I just might. I just hope the movie was faithful to the book because its subject matter is extremely important for all of us (and that’s all I can say without a spoiler alert). That song was my favorite of the set.
