Monday has arrived! Weekends are never long enough, in my opinion. Yesterday was our 21st anniversary – I know, right? This was way back in ’97 when we were dating:

Married since 2003 – we got married by the J&P on August 4th, then had a combo housewarming/surprise wedding at the 1817 farmhouse we’d just bought in PA a couple of months later. I even got decked out in a wedding dress and had a bunch of bridesmaids – my sister was the photographer for that (thank you, sis!):

We never get any pics of ourselves ever together (gonna have to remedy that!) since the hubby is camera shy – though I did snag this sort of selfie when he was playing a gig a week ago (he’s on stage playing pedal steel):

Enough of that – since it is Monday, you know that Monday means music! This week is a freebie week, so grab your favorite tune(s) and come dance with us, won’t you?

Let’s start with a brand new song from this British rock band. They stylized the title in all lowercase, without spaces in between—it’s from their upcoming tenth studio album. There are several music videos that came out recently – the most recent one being this animated lyric version I thought was quite clever.

Here’s Coldplay with “feelslikeimfallinginlove”:

Next up is a new duet from these two fabulous artists that might not be what fans of either artist were expecting. Both have been pretty rowdy lately, but this acoustic ballad is much more sensitive. Lyrically, it’s a new kind of love song—one that finds each woman asking her man for a little space if he wants the romance to go the distance. The two artists wrote this song together – one is currently a ‘most in-demand’ artist to collaborate with. With this song, that’s definitely indicative of why. 😉

Get ready to have your earbuds tickled; here’s Lainey Wilson and Miranda Lambert with “Good Horses”:

Next up is a brand new song from another favorite artist, and though the Australia-born country star didn’t write it, he says the song has a storyline that resonates with him and his childhood. He said:

“When I was a kid, our family moved around a lot. By the 5th grade I’d been in four schools and lived in nine different houses. So, a ‘hometown’ felt more about my family, and a place inside of me, somewhere I could find my center.

It’s a theme that’s always spoken to me. Songs like Don Williams‘ ‘If Hollywood Don’t Need You’ and Glen Campbell‘s ‘Country Boy (You Got Your Feet in LA)’ and a song I recorded on my FUSE album, ‘Come Back To Me.’ Those songs and this one all share a similar feeling, a kind of grounded safety, familiarity and a place where I can always find ME.”

In the video, he shares childhood photos and memories with his family as he redefined the meaning of the word “hometown.”

Get ready for goosebumps, here’s Keith Urban with “Heart Like a Hometown”:

Last but certainly not least, I stumbled across this song when I was looking for others…and fell in love with it, even though it’s been 14 years since it was released… whaaat? anyway, I can certainly relate – I’ve been called “Stephanie,” “Tracy,” and even “Daisy” – that last one is my favorite, of course. the song is from an English indie pop duo formed in Salford, Greater Manchester, in 2007. I didn’t find much background on the song, but it’s definitely one to enjoy.

Without further ado, here’s The Ting Tings with “That’s Not My Name”:

That’s a wrap for this week – have a great Monday! See you on the dance floor!

  1. Congrats on 21 years and going strong, my friend! Yes, definitely take the time for those selfies! You both, maybe him more will come to appreciate the memories associated with the photo ops. I love that DH frequently gets selfies of us. We still need to do it more and we often forget to get family gatherings which is a real bummer since those are rare times with ours all grown up. Love your song picks. Have a boogietastic week, dearie!!xo

I have also been called Deirdre, Marguerite, Ingrid and Gretal( German sounding is all they could recall).
