Mother’s Day Shenanigans and Random Funnies: Random Tuesday Thoughts

Holy moly, we’re halfway through May already! I hope all you mothers out there had a wonderful Mother’s Day. It’s never a big celebration in our house – the hubby’s childhood trauma with his not-very-nice-mom soured him on Mother’s Day in general, but over the years, he’s been getting more on board with celebrating me as the mother of his child (as opposed to – you’re not my mother, so why should I acknowledge this day? LOL!)

A new axe-throwing place opened up about 30 minutes south of us, so I suggested we go do that for fun – they were having a Mother’s Day special, so moms got to throw axes for free. 😉 I’ve never done it before, but always wanted to try, so try we did! We had a blast!

The hubby and I tied overall – he won 2 games, I won 2 games, and we tied on two games. I didn’t take any pics at all, but the owner of the axe place suggested getting a shot of us before we left – of course, this was after heaving an axe over and over again at the target for over an hour, so I was hot and sweaty, but take a pic we did:

See all those smiles? Proof positive everyone had a great time. We stopped at a newish restaurant that opened within the last year for dinner – service was slow, but the food was amazing, so it was the perfect finish to a nice mellow Mother’s Day.
