Monday has arrived yet again! Hope all you Mothers out there were treated extra special yesterday. Meanwhile it is Monday, you know that Monday means music! This week is a freebie week, so grab your favorite tune(s) and come dance with us, won’t you?

Let’s start with a French DJ and record producer who collaborated with this American pop-rock band for this song. This dynamic partnership promises to captivate audiences worldwide and dominate the charts as the perfect anthem for the upcoming summer vibes.

Here’s to David Guetta and OneRepublic with “I Don’t Wanna Wait”:

Next up is a brand-new song from this group. The main lyrics include: “Stop waiting on your 15 minutes of fame, ’cause you’re not special.” The frontman said:

“What we’re saying is you’re not special, and neither are we. What we don’t want people to do – and this is just our opinion – we don’t want people to lose their humanity. We don’t want people to lose their human connection.

This song carries a lot of weight. It’s not a warning, and it’s not a holier-than-thou statement either. It’s an example of how we’re all the same on a lot of different levels. We’re all cut from the same cloth. You have to remember how to be a human being: to make the gesture of asking someone how they’re doing today, and genuinely wanting to know the answer.

It comes back to the modern day, and the fact that everyone has an opinion, everyone has to make statements, and some people just want to hear the sound of the own voices.

But they’re not special, and nor am I: I’m putting it back on myself too. There’s a bigger statement being made in this song then what your first initial reaction might suggest. Maybe, after you hear the song, take stock of yourself… and be kind.”

Give a listen to Shinedown with “Special”:

Next up is a brand new song from this artist I recently stumbled across – he’s an American musician, singer-songwriter, filmmaker, and record producer. His music combines hip-hop, country, rock, and Americana. He gained attention for his song “Start a Riot” from the soundtrack to Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse in 2018.

This song is top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100. It’s actually interpolated from a song that was a hit by another artist back in 2004. The artist pointed to the 2000s’ impact when rolling out this song, which is not the only hit in recent memory to take inspiration from an era that can currently be seen all over every medium of pop culture. He said:

“Early 2000s hip-hop and R&B were such a huge part of my childhood and I had been wanting to flip one for a while into a country song, so we did it with ‘Tipsy’. I love how it turned out because it’s a true blend of genres I love. It’s a song that I wanted people to hear and just wanna have fun and party!”

Without further ado, here’s Shaboozey with “A Bar Song (Tipsy)”:

Last but certainly not least, this favorite band paid tribute to late legendary musician Jimmy Buffett with this new song, which features singer-songwriter and Coral Reefer Band member Mac McAnally. They said:

“[This song] blends [this Band’s] signature sound with the laid-back, island-inspired vibes synonymous with Buffett’s iconic repertoire, capturing the shared passion for storytelling through song.

I’m so excited for you to hear this song and to pay tribute to Jimmy Buffett. It hit me hard when we found out he was exiting the stage; he was an incredible human being. This is a celebration of his life and all of the people that will remember him through his songs.”

Get ready for some major goosebumps; here’s Zac Brown Band featuring Mac McAnally with “Pirates & Parrots”:

  1. Zac Brown just made me cry. Summer without Jimmy … but his music lives on.

  2. I am not a fan of the first song with the wau he sang it..”waa…it” he would do that hiccup in-between the words but I enjoyed the rest. I, too, was very sad with Jimmy Buffet died. I thought he would live like Dick Van Dyke.

  3. Thanks for sharing your all new-to-me song picks. My favorite of these is the tribute song to Jimmy Buffet. Have a magical, boogietastic week…what’s left of it! 😉 xo
