Hello Tuesday! Is it just me, or is this time of year – post-holidays – feel like time passes very slowly… waiting for the next holiday or 3-day weekend? The weather doesn’t help any, though, when it’s gray and dreary out. Yes, the snow, ice, and freezing temps have departed, and the rain has returned with a vengeance.

I don’t mind if it rains or snows, as long as I don’t have to drive long distances in either element – especially freeway driving. It’s not the freeway themselves, it’s all the crazy drivers in the snow, and the big semi-trucks in the rain – those giant trucks with their giant tires tend to throw tons of water on my little car, making visibility problematic.

Unfortunately, today is one of those days – I have two doc appts today that will be 90+ minutes one way on the freeway in the rain… luckily it looks like Mother Nature will give me a break (fingers crossed) and the sun might be peeking out for my 90+ minute drive home. Let’s hope!

I had my annual just after Christmas, and my doc didn’t like a couple of beauty marks on my back, so she referred me to a dermatologist for a full scan. One of the caveats of being a freckle-faced pale-skinned person who used to be a sun-worshipper in her younger days. I’ve encountered more than my fair share of sunburnt shoulders:

If I knew then what I know now… hindsight is 20/20 after all!

After that, I have a surgery consult to talk about a hernia I seem to have acquired. I was smart and scheduled both appointments on the same day (they’re in the same building, thank goodness) so I’d only have to make that 3+ hour round-trip commute once instead of twice! I’ll keep you posted on the outcomes of both.

Meanwhile, I did manage to swap out my Christmas decor with Valentine’s Day decor this weekend – I still have a few Christmas-y stuff to put away in the living room, then it will be obvious the tree has Valentine ornaments on it. When the rain lets up I’ll be able to haul the rest of the Christmas stuff out to the shed. I prefer to do that when it’s mostly dry out (or at least not raining), the area around the shed tends to get muddy, so I’ll avoid traipsing through the mud as long as possible. 😉

Let’s dive into the funnies, shall we? This cracked me up (see what I did there?):

  1. That is a long way to go for a doctor’s appointment. Glad you were smart and scheduled them together! I hope you won’t need surgery. Loved your funnies. It took me far too long to figure out what was wrong with that face, too! LOL!

  2. Heeheehee! My rocker will be in the corner — I know a few kids who could have said that growing up.

I do pray you get good news on your doctor appointments.
