Monday has arrived, and one week from today is Christmas Day! Holy moly it’s coming fast this year! I’m still not ready… guess I better double down this week, eh? Since it’s Monday, you know that Monday means music!

Traditionally, we’ve kept the last month of the year reserved for Christmas music. For the first time, we’re opening the dance floor to theme suggestions for theme weeks but let’s try to keep the theme related to the holidays. This week is simply “Christmas music” – so grab your favorite Christmas tune(s) and come dance with us, won’t you?

Let’s start with this group who released this brand new original Christmas song that conveys the desire to have a loved one back home for Christmas, with lyrics referencing holiday symbols like mistletoe, carol singing and cocoa sipping.

Give a listen to OneRepublic with “Dear Santa”:

Next up is this amazing 10-man a cappella group that specializes in Christmas songs; their offbeat rendition of “Twelve Days of Christmas” got them a record deal back in 1998. This is a brand-new fun Christmas song from them that I know you’ll enjoy!

Get ready for some hilarity, here’s Straight No Chaser with “Christmastime”:

Next up is a song from one of my favorite bands I shared back in 2020 when this was released – the lead singer was making that dark year a little lighter with his Grade-A social media content, and now the rest of the band is getting in on the action. On December 10, 2020 they uploaded a cover of this song, and paired it with a hilarious video.

The lead singer sings the iconic holiday tune while showing off his best dance moves dressed in a Santa suit. The bassist holds his dog, who’s dressed in a candy cane striped outfit, and keeps a serious face (reminiscent of Saturday Night Live’s classic “I Wish It Was Christmas Today” performance). The lead guitarist plays guitar in a red and green striped onesie and hooded elf robe, and the drummer plays a pink plastic keyboard, donning a Santa hat and goofy outfit.

On the YouTube description they wrote:

“we dug up this classic cover for your enjoyment”

I’m so glad they did.

For your entertainment, here’s Imagine Dragons with “White Christmas”:

Last, but certainly not least, is a song from this seven-time Grammy winner who released this song (and the album by the same name) back in 2017, but I ran across it just this weekend and it caught my ear. I couldn’t find any background about it, though, so you’re just going to have to trust me you’ll love it as much as I do.

Here’s TobyMac with “Light Of Christmas”:

That’s a wrap for this week – have a great Monday! See you on the dance floor!

  1. Stacy,

Imagine Dragon’s cover of White Christmas is a pleasantly surprising discovery this morning. 🙂 I hope y’all have loads of fun making merry as you getting the last bits of holiday preparation under your belt. The month is jingling by as quick as Santa’s reindeer striking across the sky on Christmas Eve. Have a very merry Christmas, my dear! xo

  2. I like the sound of the One Republic song. I was expecting something completely different from Toby Mac. Nice post today. Have a very blessed week.

  3. I don’t think I’ve ever heard a cover (Imagine Dragons) of the iconic Drifters cover of White Christmas. It did have a nice guitar solo about halfway through. Toby Mac and Christmas Time had me toe tapping and I declare Toby Mac my favorite for today. Fun post.
