Purging Progress and Random Funnies: Random Tuesday Thoughts

Here we are, the second to the last Tuesday of September! Thankfully it looks like we’re finally dispensing with the heat and entering into ‘normal’ temps leading up to the first day of fall. I’m behind on my usual fall decorating, but as long as I have it done by October 1st, I’m golden. Then I can enjoy the festive look through Thanksgiving before switching over to Christmas decor.

We’re slowly but surely making progress on the purging – another dumpster filled and ready for pickup today. Still have a ton to go through and purge, but I’m happy that we’re actually seeing progress with the ever-diminishing pile’o’boxes and more spaces opening up. I don’t think we’ll get it all done during the four weeks we have the dumpster, but I’ll take any progress and decrease in packrat junk any day.

The repair on our roof commenced on Friday, so we can move towards the rainy season without worry. Now to start budgeting and saving for a roof replacement that we’ll need to face next spring/summer. I’d rather be saving for an exotic vacation somewhere, but this of course takes priority. Some days it sucks having to be an adult and being responsible! LOL!

Speaking of seasonal decorating – Christmas is only about 14 weeks away! Egads! I’m of course keeping this countdown active, either it will be helpful or annoying – or annoyingly helpful!
