Monday is here yet again – we need more “weekend” before it shows up, don’t we?

But since it is Monday, you know that Monday means music! This week is a freebie week, so grab your favorite tune(s) and come dance with us, will you?

Let’s start with one of this favorite artist’s new songs, who recently released a hilariously fun retro music video that features clips of Cher, Jamie Lee Curtis and Jane Fonda, as well as footage from the USA National Aerobic Champions.

The video starts off with Cher speaking to the camera saying: “To have a healthy mind and healthy body, you’ve got to make a commitment to it…”.

I couldn’t find any more in depth info about the song or video, but the video is super fun, so that’s all we need.

Get ready for some fun, here’s P!nk with “Runaway”:

Next up, this favorite group along with Inner City Youth Orchestra of Los Angeles released a new song, their first collaboration project with Coke Studio, Coca-Cola’s global music platform. Inner City Youth Orchestra said:

“Music can transform the minds and lives of young people and our Collision song for Coke Studio was an opportunity to create a unique collaboration and musical experience. It was amazing to work with [this group] and produce this beautiful piece of music for all to enjoy.”

Give a listen to Imagine Dragons featuring Inner City Youth Orchestra of Los Angeles with “Symphony”:

Next up is a song that caught my ear when I saw an Instagram post from one of my favorite actresses (who happens to be married to one of my favorite country artists) who had this song playing in the background of a post of her ziplining.

This Nashville-based, powerhouse duo who formed their group as a creative outlet for the eclectic, alt/indie tunes they’d been writing and producing for themselves and other artists collaborated with this artist, who has been described as “fun and refreshingly smooth”, “timeless”, and “taking the world of music by storm”, who is a singer-songwriter who is an industry unto herself.

These three have had their songs heard on every network imaginable, on multiple popular shows across the board. So they may sound familiar to you when you listen to this upbeat song.

Get up and dance, here’s LÒNIS featuring Daphne Willis with “Good to Go”:

Last, but certainly not least, is another song that caught my ear while I’ve been re-watching a favorite series, How I Met Your Mother. It’s a great way to unwind after a busy day working. 😉

This song plays during one of the most impactful scene in the series. The thing that hurts the most is when they zoom out and show Ted alone in his new building that is the same height as the Empire State (which is his lifelong dream) and just on the other side there’s the WWN building where his best friend and the woman he loved (at that time) just got engaged.

Barney: “It’s gonna be legendary.”

Robin: “No wait for it?”

Barney: “I got you. I don’t need to wait for it anymore.”

Get ready for goosebumps – here’s Fort Atlantic with “Let Your Heart Hold Fast”:

That’s a wrap for this week – have a great Monday! See you on the dance floor!

  1. Well, I’ll tell you my friend if I did those kind exercises in Pink’s song, I’d be pushin’ up daises! I mean dang! hahaha That next song kinda sounds like calypso don’t you think… kinda catchy. Never heard that one before! Your next tune, “Good to Go”, another new one for me, but I can see the girls gettin’ together and gettin’ down! Oh yeah, good dance tune for sure! I wish… my back is already laughin’ at me! hahaha Your last tune… Fort Atlantic… hmmm also new for me… not bad… different! Totally new for me. I don’t drive anymore so I don’t even listen to the radio that much unless I go out with hubby to the doctors! Sheesh Such is life… sometimes it just stinks!!! Thanks for keepin’ me updated my friend & have a great week! Great selections… I really kinda liked Pink’s tune! Thanks… Have a great week!

  2. Stacy,

The vintage clips of the 80s aerobic scenes bring back my own experiences from the past. I loved going to aerobic class with my bestie! We had such a blast. The only thing is I didn’t look as good as the babes in these videos. lol “Good to Go” had a nice upbeat tempo that I really dig. I may have to check out more by Lonis. Have a boogietastic week, my friend! xo

  3. Lonis and Fort Atlantic were knew to me and I enjoyed both songs. But the highlight of your post was Pink’s video. She captured the 80’s vibe so well in this song – and those aerobics video. Did I see Cher in some spots especially at the beginning? Were those real 80’s videos? This had me guessing until I researched and they were. Even though I don’t remember the Crystal Light championships. Thanks so much for the memories!
