April is sure speeding by, isn’t it? Only 2 more weeks left of this month! Spring weather is still being elusive, aside from everyone having issues with allergy season. Apparently the sun has come out just enough times to enable the pollen to burst forth, even affecting the hubby – who generally doesn’t have allergies – is suffering with allergies this year. Poor guy. Meanwhile it’s Monday – you know that Monday means music!

For this new year, the 4M crew is operating a bit differently. If you have a theme idea, submit your request by email. Each person’s suggestion(s) will be credited accordingly – unless someone wants to volunteer for the monthly co-host spot, then we won’t be looking for anyone to fill it in 2023. It’s tough to commit for 4-weeks. The object is to keep things fun!

For this week, our theme was selected from an old, inactive site: “Build a playlist for us to feel what makes life magical to you.” Let’s get this magical party started!

Some people dream of changing the world, but sometimes the biggest dream we can have is making a difference in someone else’s life. There’s no telling how many lives we’ve touched, since often it’s the smallest interactions that leave the greatest impact, but if someone has touched your life, it’s worth telling them.

When all is said and done it’s the people in our lives that matter the most, and there’s nothing more gratifying than knowing someone notices us and that they care – which of course makes life magical, no?

Without further ado, here’s BANNΞRS with “Someone To You”:

Next up is a magical duet of this artist with her 9-year old daughter at the time. Released back in February 2021 during the COVID pandemic, the sweet song looks forward to a brighter future when lockdown is over. The artist said:

“We all know this year has been different and challenging and at times terrifying and tumultuous and angsty and all the things. And I personally find comfort in music, I find comfort in song, I love singing with my daughter and my son.”

The song was recorded at their home, because “…it made us feel happy and so we’re gonna put it out for no other reason than that we hope that the song makes you feel happy.”

Or, you know, magical.

Get ready for some goosebumps, here’s P!nk and Willow Sage Hart with “Cover Me In Sunshine”:

Next up, this was one of the first songs that I heard from this group that made me an eternal fan – hard to believe it’s been about 12 years since this song was released! This is their first single from their first major label release back in 2011-2012. The lead said the song is “about self-empowerment and staying true to your roots.” He wrote the inspirational anthem in his kitchen as he dealt with a bout of depression. He said:

“I was dropping out of college, making some changes, and it wasn’t the peak of my life. I was just trying to write a song for myself. I’ve struggled with depression and anxiety, and the song spurred from that. Whoever connects to it, I’m happy.

When a song is most honest and most raw that’s when  know you’re doing something right. A lot of my  are able to be in touch with their problems and put it through melodies. It happens all the time with bands.”

It’s time to dance, here’s Imagine Dragons with “It’s Time”:

Last, but certainly not least, is a brand new song that was released 5 months ago, but I somehow missed it, and was introduced to it on last week’s episode of one of my favorite shows, “Station 19”.

The song is playing in the opening scene where the firefighters were in the kitchen prepping a dinner and dancing to this tune – I of course had to find it immediately. Love it! And immediately started dancing in my seat. I love magical tunes that instigate dancing.

Get ready to do some dancing, here’s Fitz and the Tantrums with “Heaven”:

That’s a wrap for this week – see you on the dance floor!

  1. The month is really zipping by, isn’t it? Pollen is all over everything here. What a nice set of songs to start the week off with, darlin’! Have a boogietastic week. 😉

  2. These are newer songs and I’m An old dud but I do like to dance it up and the last one one was fun. I love Pink and this song just is great. Her kid sounds like a kid which makes it even more endearing. Love it.

  3. Nice set this week – my favorite was Pink. Just seeing her and her daughter interact and their rural life; it was so sweet. Fitz and the Tantrums had a nice dance song that had me swaying to the beat.
