Whew! We made it, people! One more year of the big Bordeaux event in the books. Or is that on the books? Whichever it is, we did it! All those months of planning and prepping and work work work – the start of the tour went smoothly, all the signage I’d designed and had printed and shipped arrived on time and turned out great, the transportation and food arranged for the producers for each leg went almost as smoothly as expected, until their arrival in Seattle on Thursday.

The transportation was supposed to be at the airport 30 minutes before their flights arrived, but they were nowhere to be found. When they were finally tracked down, they had sent 3 vehicles to pick up the guests, which was perfect, except they sent 2 vehicles to transport the guests, and loaded all their box lunches into the 3rd vehicle, instead of coordinating lunch-per-person-per-vehicle.

Since they showed up so late, when one of the drivers was going to run over to the vehicle containing all the food to grab their lunches, the guests were already irritated at their lateness and told them no, let’s just go. I don’t know if they ever ended up with their food (I sure hope they did) but at least when they arrived at the venue later that afternoon, they seemed in good spirits. Especially since the space is amazing:

That’s one of three sections of this 6000 square foot venue. The building, in the heart of historical downtown Seattle was built in 1890 – lots of history there for sure. The image above is the middle section of three through 18-foot tall archways. Pretty cool, no? We spent all day setting everything up and getting things ready for the event. All the producers I spoke with during the event were very happy with the space and setup, and look forward to returning to Seattle in the future.

Their 6-city tour always includes New York, Chicago, San Francisco and LA, plus two more cities of choice. The last time they were in Seattle was 2019, and had planned to return but COVID thwarted everyone’s plans the next couple of years. So perhaps there will be a return to Seattle in 2024 – now that I got to experience it firsthand (as opposed to the past 4 years strictly working in the background) it won’t be as intimidating. 😉

Friday morning’s finale in San Francisco was a bit bumpy – somehow the print order for the producer sheets got messed up, as there were 14 missing from the stack. Luckily the table signs were all accounted for, and even luckier, the printer I’d hired to print the project jumped through hoops first thing Friday morning and reprinted the entire order of producer sheets and drove them over to the venue while things were still being set up. Above and beyond – I will definitely be using that printer for any big jobs in the future!

That’s enough of the update – my brain is still fried, so let’s move onto the funnies, shall we? This is so cute! This bunny was eating this snowman’s carrot nose and looked like he was giving the snowman sweet kisses:
