Tuesday has arrived again – last week was a crazy week, if you saw my post yesterday, I mentioned our tiny town had a huge fire in one of its oldest buildings:

That was the view from our deck last Tuesday night. It took a very long time to finally put that raging fire out, since the building was built in 1905 (or earlier, some say it might have been built in the late 1800s, one of the few buildings left that avoided the historical fire in 1910 that wiped out the entire downtown at the time). Thankfully all the residents that called that place home were able to make it out safely. Pictures posted of the fire closer up show how intense it was:

It took most of the night to put the fire out, and a majority of the following day. The aftermath was chilling:

Unfortunately the building is a loss, they’re working to coordinate having it demolished as quickly as possible, as it’s a safety hazard for that whole block. The town is rallying to help those displaced by the fire – what a horrible time of year to have this happen. Well, OK, no time of year is not horrible – but just before the holidays makes it even more poignant.

We need some levity – let’s jump to the funnies, shall we? This totally cracked me up:

  1. A destructive fire is such a sad event, no matter what or when. I will be praying for all those displaced.

You find the best funnies, thank you!

  2. Hill areas. Oh, booooooooooo. (It was good though). It’s always a sad thing when historic buildings catch on fire. We had a fire in a historic 11 story building in the downtown where I work (the second tallest building in the city) many years ago, but they were able to save the building. It wasn’t apartments at the time but it is now.
