Tuesday has arrived, and once again we here in the Pacific Northwest are experiencing yet another heatwave. Just when the weather temps returned to ‘normal’ and the house finally cooled off, we’re back to more heat. Thankfully this round won’t last a full week-plus like the last one did, but I’ll be very happy when we’re not constantly ramping up to excessive heat.

This is why fall is my favorite season – I’m not a fan of too much heat… 😉

So, I went in for a hearing tested first thing yesterday morning (Monday) – I’ve suffered with chronic sinusitis for most of my life (if I catch a simple cold, it invariably morphs into a full-blown severe sinus infection – I know, I get all the fun!) At any rate, it’s affected my hearing over the years, then a bout of Covid really did a number on it, so it was time to bite the bullet and see how bad it is, and if I’m gonna need some hearing aids.

Of course I do – currently my hearing is at a moderate to severe loss (not quite as bad as I thought it was going to be, but bad enough that I’m gonna need some aid to hear). Sucks getting older, doesn’t it? Huh? What?

I found this perfect illustration on people like me that find themselves needing to read lips while someone talks to them:

I have to wait until October to get peruse my options and ultimately get fitted (my ear holes are smaller than ‘normal’, so there’s going to need to be some customization happening).

These are pretty much par for the course (and I’ve shared them before, but so worth sharing again):

And this totally cracked me up:

I’m not ‘elderly’ yet, but I really should plan to have some fun, don’t you think?

  1. Heeheehee! Those are great, i always enjoy your Tuesday posts. That car seat strap looks amazingly like a strap i bought to tie my children into the shopping carts when they were young, as they were little climbing escape artisits.

You are smart to get hearing aids now and get used to them early. A hearing specialist once told me some long, technical explanation about why early is better, and i wouldn’t be able to repeat it but i remembered the lesson.
