We have arrived at Tuesday – of a short week for many of us. That includes me, too, even though I work from home, and chances are I’ll end up doing some work over the long weekend just to clock some hours. But we’ll see – I might decide I need to step away and take a break, lord knows I’m long overdue for giving myself a break.
Thanksgiving is this week (I know, I know, I don’t have to tell you that), I had to do my ‘regular’ semi-monthly grocery shopping over the weekend (I usually do it when it coincides with the hubby’s payday twice a month, but since his payday is tomorrow, no way was I going to do ‘regular’ grocery shopping the day before Thanksgiving! I might be crazy, but not that crazy… 😉 )
At any rate, I learned from my mom the art of finding the best deals, even if that means going to several different places to pick up what’s needed until the next grocery shopping run. Because of that, I was able to snag two free turkeys during my shopping excursion, and since I’d already bought a turkey, I decided to pay it forward to others who might need it. If it had been amenable to my budget, I totally would have bought all the sides and stuff, too, to go along with the turkey, but at least two families now have the turkey taken care of.
What are all your plans for Thanksgiving? The CDC is recommending no one travel for the holiday, in case those family gatherings end up as super spreaders. I feel bad we can’t go to my mom’s for Thanksgiving this year, but I would really feel bad if that is what pushes her over the precipice, considering she’s technically considered in the ‘high risk’ group of people.
Even though I won’t be cooking for a large group, I’m still going to make my usual Thanksgiving Feast, complete with Champagne Turkey and all the fun sides. I’m sure I’ll be spending a bit of time tomorrow on all the prep, as well as pre-making some stuff so I can have a relaxing day on Thursday. Hope you all get some relaxation this weekend, too!
Let’s dive on into the funnies, shall we? This is funny but sad:

Thank you so much for the funnies, i am over here wiping my eyes. May your whole family be blessed and may we all be able to meet up with loved ones soon.
That Thanksgiving-dinner-in-a-can looks really gross…
Happy Thanksgiving. Love your funnies. Thanks for sharing them.
It was just the four of us here for Thanksgiving as two of us had just come off “isolation” and two of us were in quarantine (so basically the top of anyone’s guest list). As a result, there were no casseroles since nobody but me eats them here, so I am not sure it really even counted as Thanksgiving! lol
