July is here – which means we’re already on the downhill slide to the end of the year. Crazy to think that, isn’t it? Especially with 2020 being so… whacko.

I  hope you all had a good 4th of July – all the big fireworks events were of course canceled because of covid, which then resulted in everyone all over buying their own. So much so, all the ‘local’ fireworks stands sold out either before the 4th or fairly early the day of. It was crazy – there was so much booming going on all around, it sounded like we were in the middle of some crazy war zone.

The dogs were scared big time – Reddington hunkered down under my desk in the basement, and when the hubby went up to bed, he scurried under our bed and stayed put (usually he hangs out with me in the basement until I head up to bed about an hour-ish later). Poor things!

Speaking of Max, he’s growing like crazy – I need to transfer some pictures from my phone, so I’ll be sure to share those next week for sure (and take more between now and then). He’s already sitting pretty for treats, and almost able to shake, too. He’s getting closer to being housebroken, I’ll be so glad when he is so I don’t have to clean up random puddles of pee or piles in the house. 😉 He does great at night, though – he can’t jump on or off the bed yet, so he’s technically a prisoner on our bed when it’s bedtime – but he hasn’t had an accident on our bed since day one (knock on wood).

If you’ve followed me for a while, you know I love deer. I’ve been collecting deer items since I was 7 years old – you know, so a long ass time…heh! Needless to say, when I saw this story online yesterday, it made my heart happy:

A deer entered a Colorado store. The store owner gave him some chocolate chip cookies. The deer left the store and returned after half an hour with all his family members 💜

Isn’t that awesome?! We have a family of deer that like to hang out in the woodsy lot across our driveway (and often times will be in our yard – the hubby learned the hard way that they apparently like roses, as evidenced by the buds that hadn’t quite yet bloomed were eaten off the three new rose bushes he’d just planted next to the house. He’s since dug them up and potted them for the time being, until he figures out where to plant them that the deer can’t get to).

I also saw this and went “Awwwww!”:

  1. We watched fireworks on TV. It was that or nothing! Love the story about the deer. Is it really true? And the photo of the boy and deer. That ostrich! Those fighting birds! Great funnies!

  2. I also have heard the story of deer on social media last year. The picture of baby and fawn is too cute to handle. Other pictures are quite funny.

  3. Thank you for the funnies, and yes, this year has been “challenging” for all of us.

    Have a fabulous Tuesday!
