Anyone else ready for spring? We didn’t get the snow we were promised, and this week we’re back to rain, rain, and more rain (I know, I know, typical for the Pacific Northwest, no?) so I’m now jonesin’ for some warmth and sunshine. I’m pretty sure I’m not alone in that wish.
While the family had a three-day weekend this past weekend, I worked like a maniac yesterday – the one caveat for working from home for sure. But I don’t mind – because my schedule gets to be super flexible because I work from home, I’m OK with working on days the rest of the clan has the day off. Because if we’d had plans, I would have taken the day off, too, but since we didn’t I might as well earn my keep, right? How was your weekend?
Did any of you see the cool zebra that was photographed back in September? Check this out:
So adorable!! Talk about a horse of another color – this zebra foal with a dark coat and white polka dots has been spotted in Kenya’s Masai Mara National Reserve.
Photographer Frank Liu was on the search for rhinos recently when he noticed the eye-catching plains zebra, likely about a week old. He was quoted as saying:
“At first glance he looked like a different species altogether.”
Antony Tira, a Maasai guide who first spotted the foal, named him Tira. Zebra stripes are as unique as fingerprints, but Tira’s odd coloration could be the first recorded observation in the Masai Mara. Similar foals have been seen in Botswana’s Okavango Delta.
Tira and these other foals have a condition called pseudomelanism, a rare genetic mutation in which animals display some sort of abnormality in their stripe pattern. Pretty cool, though, and so cute:
Betty White celebrated her 95th birthday this weekend – I love her! And this is funny:

Stacy,
Our weather has been mild since before Christmas and then click it got really cold over the weekend. It’s so frigid these last couple of days. I’m like bring back the spring-like weather but I’m pretty sure we won’t see that again for a long while.
No, I have not seen this rare Zebra foal. How neat and you’re right the baby is so cute. The photographer happened to be in the right place at the right time to capture this moment because no doubt they are few and far between occurrence caught with the camera’s eye.
You random funnies had me smiling. My favorite is the dog telling his owner, that the neighbors are lying that he doesn’t have a bike. lol I also, liked the one of the two mummies. 🙂
Have a randomntastic day, my dear!
Heeheehee! “I help make people” — that’s too good, i’m glad i wasn’t drinking the coffee when i read it.
We are finally getting winter, and as much as i prefer moderate temps, i am hoping it sticks a while. We need a proper winter, it’s actually good for us as long as we don’t get below freezing for longer than overnight.
The baby zebra and rotary phone are priceless, and i really appreciate you, hunting all those memes!
Never seen that zebra foal. Thanks for hosting and I hope that you have a wonderful week.
