One week, people!! One week (and a day) until Christmas! Or, if you’re anything like my family, Christmas spans over both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, so literally one week. We tried one year to do what other families did, only open one gift on Christmas Eve (like new pajamas) and all the rest of the gifts on Christmas Day, but somehow there seems to be more magic opening all the family gifts on Christmas Eve, then all the Santa gifts on Christmas morning.

And yes, us adults get Santa gifts, too. As long as we’re not on the naughty list, of course…heh!

Of course I’m the one that buys all the Santa gifts, so I end up buying my own and wrapping them and acting surprised the next morning. While it would be nice if someone else got my Santa gifts for me (cough*hubby*cough) at least I know I’ll be getting what I want/need, right?

Are y’all ready for Christmas? Seems every year I get further and further behind on the ‘ready’ part. Because I’ve been running behind, I decided to just use our fake tree again this year instead of getting a real one (definitely going with a real tree next year). So much for ‘easy’, I finally got our tree up last weekend, but couldn’t decorate it, because more than 50-percent of the lights were out when I plugged it in. I still turned on the lights each day, and we joked that our tree was ‘half lit’.

Instead of trying to figure out which bulbs needed replacing, I figured it was easier just to string more lights. I finally had a chance to add more lights Sunday, so we could finally decorate it! Of course that part may take another week to do, so stay tuned.

Let’s jump to the funnies, shall we? This cracked me up:

  1. Your family has been through a lot this year, i am so glad you have made the time to even get a tree! It would be nice if husbands would be Santa for us, but we can’t always have everything. It does not, as you know, negate all the great stuff they do.

Thanks for the great funnies, and if you can convince your family, some people still celebrate Epiphany as their gift giving day, making Christmas last longer.
