You know how when you’re a kid, all the adults tell you how fast time flies when you get older, because as kids we were always lamenting about how slow time seemed to be going? But now that we’re adults, we’re wishing for a slowdown of time – isn’t it ironic?

I know I’m not alone in that introspective, right? Right?!

So yeah. I’ve been a terrible hostess with the randomness on Tuesdays. But I’ll do better, wait and see. I was going to say ‘I promise’, but I don’t want to put that kind of pressure on myself, because I’m one who makes it a point to keep all my promises.

Seems right now I’m juggling numerous balls in the air, one of which is getting acclimated to my new job (still loving it!), so lately I seem to be burning the candle at both ends – I better rectify that situation STAT.

I’m gonna find my groove, then you will see that I’m not just smoke and mirrors, and I’ll be back to my normal harassing self with regular visits and comments and replies to comments. It’s gonna happen sooner rather than later!

Can you believe it’s already almost August?! I was realizing that if I want to make sure I have everything on the ‘Back To School’ list purchased, I’d probably better do that this week, because by the time the first day of school rolls around, you know all the BTS stuff will already be in the process of being replaced by Christmas, and I won’t be able to find everything on “The List”.

Seems all the retailers tend to initiate the return of Christmas whilst we’re still in the throes of hot summer weather. I don’t know about you, but I’m not thinking “Oooh! Christmas!” when it’s 90-degrees out. Of course that might be different if I lived in an area that usually is 90-degrees at Christmas time. Just sayin’.

Speaking of summer weather… We’re just in the middle of summer, and while everyone and their brother thinks it always rains in Seattle, yesterday marked the 30th consecutive day in Western Washington with no precipitation, according to the National Weather Service (the record is 51 days).

That dry spell is set to continue this week: it’s going to be warm, dry, and sunny all week, and it looks like we’re well on the way to breaking that previous record if the long-term forecast turns out to be true.

So anyone who ever visited Seattle when it was all rain all the time, now’s the time to come for a visit – one of two things will happen. 1) You’ll either fall in love with the area and decide you really must live here, or 2) you’ll invoke Murphy’s Law and bring some rain with you. This is the one time I’d be all for invoking Murphy’s Law.

Of course we’re going camping in a couple of weeks, and no doubt there will be a burn ban prohibiting us from having a good old fashioned campfire. Luckily, though, I got one of those propane fueled fire thingys that they do allow in lieu of a wood fire:

That way, even with a burn ban, we’ll still be able to roast marshmallows and make s’mores. Because camping just isn’t the real deal without s’mores!

That’s a wrap for this week – keeping it short and sweet this week!

You know the drill, link up and join in the fun, everyone is welcome, random or not. And that means even if you don’t have a specific Random Tuesday Thoughts Rebel post posted, you can still link up, I’m not picky. You don’t even have to add the badge, just link up so I can come harass you on your blog. I promise to play nice.

  1. I can’t believe how quickly this summer is going! Beautiful, scenic photos, btw. I was supposed to get to visit Seattle with my husband because I’ve never been there before, but his business trip got cancelled and rescheduled for a different time and place. Darn! I also like to keep my promises, too.

  2. If i could, i would send you some of our afternoon showers.

Good luck with the Back to School list, i hope it doesn’t break the bank!

  3. We are thinking about going to Seattle and just sort of exploring breweries and stuff. I don’t know when that’ll happen though. We thought maybe in 2020 for our anniversary but now I am leaning more towards Key West. Completely different places!

  4. I spent a couple of weeks in Seattle and stayed over a weekend. Saturday was gorgeous, 80 degrees and sunny. The next day, 50 degrees and rain. Weird weather ya got there.
