The school year is winding down, finally – the kids are counting down the days (9 days left, to be exact!) of course Princess Nagger is the one most counting down the days, because she’s not a fan of the school boredom mode. Little Dude, on the other hand, is not as excited about the days remaining, because he’d go to school all summer long if he was allowed to.
He does, however, have the opportunity to participate in a fun summer event at his school – they’re doing a month of half days Monday through Thursday of fun learning, then every Friday of that month a full day Field Trip. What’s cool is the only way the kids are allowed on the fun Field Trip is if they’ve been in attendance all four days preceding that day – it makes sense, otherwise I bet there’d be kids that show up only on Field Trip Day, which really wouldn’t be fair.
With all the hubbub of the last days of school and extracurricular events, it’s been busy around here! So I thought I’d share some fun images I stumbled across – I think you’ll be impressed, and I think I need to do something like this over the summer wth the kids.

Those are way too cool, don’t you think? Which are your favorites?
It’s time once again for Leslie’s (aka Rory Bore) Tuesday Coffee Chat!
The question or prompt for this week is:
“What is the best compliment you’ve received lately?“
I’m one of those people that brush off compliments because I don’t like being the center of attention in anything. But I do have to say one of the best compliments I’ve received lately was from Little Dude’s behavioral health doctor as we struggle to figure out the best course of treatment for LD to reduce the ‘bad’ days of his ADHD, ODD and Sleep Disturbances. She told me that I’m doing a great job. That’s always nice to hear when you feel like you’re failing when behavior is off the charts.
Oh, and another compliment I’ve gotten recently is getting mistaken for at least 10 years younger than my actual age. I’ll take it! With humble thanks.
That’s a wrap for this week – you know the drill, link up and join in the fun, everyone is welcome, random or not. And that means even if you don’t have a specific Random Tuesday Thoughts Rebel post posted, you can still link up, I’m not picky. You don’t even have to add the badge, just link up so I can come harass you on your blog. I promise to play nice.

I like the photo of Superman standing on the beer can best. Those are cool! And I think that most women enjoy getting compliments that they look younger than they are. We are out for summer here now. Last day for students was June 1 and teachers June 2.
School is out here, but that’s only because our school board makes them start again in early August! It’s hot and nasty and sticky and more likely to be interrupted by storm days, so i don’t know why, but there it is.
Way cool photos (especially Hulk, he’s my sentimental favorite from the old days), and from your profile photo, you do look young!
Looks like Captain America is giving Iron Man a noogie in that first picture…
Those are great compliments.
Wow, that’s some creativity in the action figure pictures! My kids are out of school. They got out on May 23rd.
Our local parks have a similar program to what you mentioned. They offer learning M-T and a field trip on Friday but the students have to be there the four days prior. And, like you, I can see why that rule is in place.
Love the action figures so much with my favourites being the obvious relationship between Iron Man and Captain America, and the Stormtrooper sitting with his cat – so cute. It’s so reassuring when a professional tells us we’re doing a good job – just what we need to hear, and being told you’re ten years younger, well then you’re definitely doing something right.

What is the best compliment I received lately? Someone recently told me I lost weight, which felt so good because I’ve been working so hard all year to get rid of all this baby weight! Hoping to get my old shape back by next month! 🙂
I like that the do have the requirements of doing all four days before being eligible for the field trip. I also love that they provide things like this for kids. Very helpful to families.
We are way ahead into the summer holidays already. Just wish it was September back to school for us too.
You know I am loving these photos!!! That is so awesome. I used to take pictures for my son with his Lego and action figures — good times. Have you seen all the funny Thor commercials? With his room-mate in Australia?? OMG they are hilarious.
Having your parenting skills, efforts, and victories acknowledged is the BEST!! Sure I’d like to look 10 years younger, but mom is the ONE job I do not want to screw up. Everything else can fall away. But you know, it is the one thing I do NOT get complimented on very often. Like hardly ever. That’s sad comment on our value systems I think.
