Hello to a Monday that feels like a Sunday since the kids and hubby are home today.
If you follow football, you know that my beloved Seahawks sucked pond water during the first half yesterday’s game. I don’t even want to go there.
They did finally wake up for the second half, but it was too little too late, unfortunately. That being said, however, if we were going to lose to any team during the playoffs, at least it was to a team I like (since I have many friends who are avid Panther fans), and a team who have been on fire this year.
Hopefully next year the Seahawks bring it from the get go instead of piddling around until it’s too late.
Meanwhile it’s Monday – and Monday can chase the blues away with music! Today’s theme is a freebie, so grab a favorite tune and dance along, won’t you?
Let’s start off with a country newcomer who just released his debut EP on January 8th. This Illinois native has already built a solid career as a songwriter, and now hopes to stake his claim as a top-rate singer and performer as well.
So far his quest seems to be going well, this disco-flavored debut single is already attracting the attention of radio stations, showing off his rich baritone vocals and traditional-country-meets-straight-up-pop sound.
Get up and dance with the talented cutie Drew Baldridge with “Dance With Ya”:
Next up is a song from this new artist whose debut song I shared before and still love. This song is his follow up single, and is a reminder of how blessed we all are – even though, especially times like now – it may feel like our world is falling apart.
The artist said: “and so, if we can help remind folks to celebrate the little moments, celebrate life, love and music, then it really does feel like we’re at least attempting to live up to our objectives musically.”
“In the past, music has not only been my vehicle for escape but also for unification, and with this subtle reminder, we’re hoping to give audiences reprieve, if even for three minutes and 11 seconds.”
Give a listen to the inimitable Drake White with “Livin’ The Dream”:
Next up is another new artist (whose first single I shared and also still love) whose newest song finds him singing of a man who heads to a bar whenever misfortune strikes him. He was quoted as saying:
“Long story short, I used to drink a whole bunch, I’ve drank more beer than most people have in a lifetime.”
The recording includes something that is generally seen in hip-hop rather than country music: turntable scratching. The song title is a play on words on the phrase ‘power of positive thinking.’
Without further ado, here’s Chris Janson with “Power Of Positive Drinkin'”:
Last but not least, this next artist gets sexy in his new song, the third single from his latest album shows yet another side of the singer. His lyrics and performance are convincing.
This song is a straight-down-the-middle country love song. The artist plays the role of a guy enjoying a night of fresh air and wild impulses with a girl. There are surprisingly few boot songs in country music, so his new track will immediately stand out as unique.
It’s the chorus that will get stuck in your head:
“We ain’t gotta worry ‘bout gettin’ dirty / We can do whatever we want / Baby put your Luccheses on / You know you want to / ‘Cause we got a full moon / And it’s Friday night / Girl you got me so hooked / Ain’t nothin’ ever looked better in boots.”
Give a listen to Tyler Farr with “Better in Boots”:
That’s a wrap for this week – have a great Monday!
Now on to the particulars of Monday’s Music Move’s Me: I have the supreme honor and privilege of being a co-host with the inimitable Xmas Dolly and our musical cohorts, Callie from JAmericanSpice, and Naila Moon from Just the Stuff Ya Know.

PS: It’s snowing on here i see heheh!
Happy Monday and I watched that game you are referring to at the Bronco’s stadium yesterday. It was hard to cheer because I like both teams.
My kids are home today too but the adults in my home are up and moving forward. Blah….
have a great week!
Let’s face it. All of these singers are good looking. It must be a requirement to getting recorded.

Girlfriend, you have rocked the house once again! I want to take this time to thank you for sharing your talent with us and stickin’ it out all this time with me. People that truly have the beat in their heart has stayed with us, and we’ve had tons of fun. I’m sure we’ll have tons more. ROCK ON MY FRIEND AND I just wanted to say Thank you from the bottom of my heart! ROCK ON!!!! You are definitely appreciated!
Liked this set! No slow-tempo deep-feelings songs here. Sometimes you need a break from that, and this was a good one. I especially got a laugh out of “The Power of Positive Drinkin'” — been there, done that, lemme tell ya…
I should watch more football. But I do play the fantasy. Maybe I’d do better in fantasy 🙂
Sorry your team lost. Sometimes it is as is ja.
Thanks for rocking the music selections!
Enjoy your week!
